Overnight Oats

September 14, 2023

Overnight oats have become a breakfast favorite for those seeking a quick, healthy, and delicious meal that doesn’t require much prep time. This no-cook, make-ahead dish involves soaking rolled oats in liquid (such as milk or a dairy-free alternative) overnight in the refrigerator, allowing the oats to absorb the liquid and soften. The result is a creamy, satisfying dish that’s packed with fiber, protein, and healthy fats, making it the perfect way to start your day.

The beauty of overnight oats lies in their simplicity and versatility. You can customize them with a variety of fruits, nuts, seeds, and sweeteners. Popular additions include berries, banana slices, peanut butter, almond butter, chia seeds, flaxseeds, or a drizzle of honey or maple syrup for sweetness. The oats can also be flavored with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla extract to create a variety of flavor profiles.

Not only are overnight oats easy to prepare, but they also offer numerous health benefits. The oats themselves are a great source of soluble fiber, which can help lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar levels. They also provide sustained energy, making them ideal for busy mornings or a post-workout meal. The addition of chia or flaxseeds boosts the nutrient profile with omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, while fruits like berries provide vitamins and minerals to support overall health.

Since overnight oats are made ahead of time, they are a great option for meal prep. You can prepare multiple jars at once, allowing for an entire week’s worth of breakfasts. Plus, they’re portable, making them perfect for taking on the go. Simply grab a jar from the fridge, and enjoy a healthy, filling breakfast without the hassle of cooking.

Whether you prefer them topped with fresh fruit, mixed with nut butter, or enjoyed plain, overnight oats are an easy, nutritious, and customizable breakfast option that will leave you feeling energized throughout the morning.

I’m not a fan of peaches, can I use berries instead? Would it still taste good?

    1. User avatar Death Hound says:

      2 stars
I dunno if berries work. Ain’t peaches supposed to be sweet? What if it taste weird?

    2. User avatar weldon.cremin says:

      5 stars
Absolutely, berries would be a great swap! You’ll still have a delicious breakfast. Maybe try strawberries or blueberries!

  2. User avatar jake.stanton says:

I’m skeptical about overnight oats staying the same texture… but wow, mine was actually creamy. Vanilla + peach is a nice combo.

    1. User avatar Archie Lakin says:

      5 stars
Totally get the skepticism—mine used to turn kind of thick and weird, but this sounds like it’d work better with the fruit juice. Vanilla + peach is such a “no notes” flavor.

  3. User avatar Shadout Mapes says:

Do I have to use almond milk? Can I use regular milk? 🤔

    1. 5 stars
You can definitely use regular milk! It’ll still be tasty. 🥛

    2. User avatar lakiesha.buckridge says:

      3 stars
But almond milk is healthier, right? Regular milk might make it heavier.

  4. User avatar burton.lueilwitz1981 says:

    2 stars
I followed it kinda, like i forgot the vanilla (oops). It was still edible but not worth the jar space tbh.

  5. User avatar georgetta.hauck87 says:

    4 stars
I made it with frozen fruit and it still turned out great. I added chia seeds too and it got thicker by morning.

  6. User avatar rocio.paucek says:

Is it really just oats and milk? Sounds too simple. Wonder if I can make it with yogurt instead?

    1. User avatar lenard.schoen51 says:

      5 stars
Yes, it’s super simple! You can definitely try yogurt instead of milk; it might make it even creamier!

  7. User avatar hank.blick1984 says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have almond milk, used regular milk instead and it turned out great!

  8. User avatar melodie.barrows1951 says:

Overnight oats always feel like a gamble for me—sometimes too mushy, sometimes perfect. This one was more on the mushy side, but tasty.

    1. User avatar Tom Bombadil says:

      4 stars
Ahh I feel you—overnight oats are either perfection or sadness lol. I’ve had the same mushy issue. For me, using slightly less almond milk and letting them sit the full 8 hours (not longer) helps a lot. Glad it was still tasty though!

  9. User avatar marina.walker25 says:

    5 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about overnight oats with fruit chunks. But the mango got so juicy and the texture was actually nice. 10/10 for meal prep.

    1. 3 stars
Not sure about the texture tho… I tried something like this and mine got all mushy. How big are your mango chunks? Also, do you stir again before fridge or only in the morning?

    2. User avatar sharen.witting1981 says:

      5 stars
I felt the same way—fruit chunks sounded like they’d go weird overnight. But peach + mango is such a good combo. Gonna try this exactly!

  10. User avatar malcolm.nader says:

    5 stars
Yummy! I used coconut milk instead. 😍

  11. User avatar Rosario Stokes I says:

    2 stars
Meh. Not sure why everyone loves it. It was ok, tasted like mushy fruit.

  12. 5 stars
The vanilla extract makes all the difference! Never thought oats could taste this good.

    1. 5 stars
I agree! The vanilla really takes it to another level. Can’t wait to try it myself!

  13. User avatar Blue Dartwing says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have mango, so I subbed it with apple slices. Still tasted good, but I want to try it with mango next time. 👍

    1. User avatar johanne.dibbert says:

      2 stars
Apple slices? Really? That doesn’t even sound right. You should stick to the recipe!

    2. User avatar Shadout Mapes says:

      4 stars
Sounds like a good idea! I might try apples too next time. Glad it still worked out for you! 🍏

  14. User avatar Dwarven Centurion says:

    5 stars
These turned out so creamy overnight—super easy and the peaches + mango combo is honestly amazing. I used honey and added extra coconut on top. 10/10 breakfast.

    1. User avatar kaycee.konopelski says:

      3 stars
I made this but I think I messed up the amounts… I used like 1 cup milk instead of 1/2 and it was thinner. Still tasted good though. Next time I’ll do it your way!

    2. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

      5 stars
Agreed—overnight oats get *way* creamier than I expect. The peaches + mango sounds so fresh, and the coconut on top is a great call.

  15. User avatar ahmad.wyman1962 says:

    4 stars
Okay but why 1/2 cup peaches and 1/2 cup mango… that’s like a whole fruit salad in a jar 😂 Still delicious, just messy.

  16. User avatar delmar.rolfson1986 says:

    4 stars
Yum! I used canned peaches and it still turned out great! Will make again!

  17. User avatar cody.gerhold2012 says:

    4 stars
I was worried it would be bland, but the vanilla + fruit saved it. Texture was perfect after 9 hours. Next time I’ll do a little more maple syrup.

    1. User avatar mirtha.schmeler2004 says:

      5 stars
Glad it wasn’t bland—vanilla + fruit really does carry it. I’ve found 9 hours is the sweet spot too. Next time, I’d just nudge the maple a little like you said 👍

  18. User avatar kimberli.buckridge30 says:

    3 stars
It tasted kinda bland to me. Maybe more honey next time?

  19. User avatar jaime.rowe says:

Overnight oats are overrated. Oats in a jar sounds cute but I just don’t like cold breakfast. 1/2 cup almond milk feels too much too.

    1. User avatar Dr. Arletta Gulgowski says:

      4 stars
I get not liking cold breakfast. I’ve done overnight oats and then warmed them in the morning—still tastes great, just not “jar cold.” Also, 1/2 cup almond milk may feel like a lot at first, so you could start with less and add a splash as needed.

  20. 1 star
Oats? Nah, I don’t eat rabbit food. Not for me.

  21. User avatar hanna.little12 says:

    5 stars
OMG I tried it this morning and it was soooo good! My new breakfast staple!

  22. User avatar lakeisha.wolf says:

    2 stars
This seems too easy to be true. Are oats really filling enough for breakfast? 😕

  23. User avatar andre.howell76 says:

    2 stars
Too sweet for me! Maybe less maple syrup next time? Also, my oats soaked way too long and it was mushy. Eww.

  24. User avatar emilee.schaden92 says:

    4 stars
Not bad at all, but I think it needs a touch more milk/almond milk if you like it less thick. Still good flavor-wise though.

  25. User avatar pok.windler says:

    3 stars
okay so I did this but forgot it in the fridge for three days. Maybe too long? Lmao.

    1. 4 stars
Three days? That’s risky! I think you should probably toss it just to be safe. Food safety first!

  26. User avatar Frankie and Benjy says:

    3 stars
Super easy but I swapped the fruits for apples. Still good but not the same 🤷‍♀️.

  27. User avatar quinn.schuster says:

    5 stars
Vanilla + fruit + maple syrup… yeah I’d eat this every morning. Also love that it uses ingredients I already have.

  28. User avatar alfreda.collins says:

    4 stars
Peach and mango together? Yum! But I used yogurt instead of almond milk, turned out amazing!

  29. User avatar raymond.schuppe1970 says:

    2 stars
Followed the recipe, but forgot the milk! Still turned out ok, just a bit dry…

  30. User avatar wellRespected says:

    4 stars
Pretty easy, just dump, stir, chill. I added chia seeds and it thickened up nicely. Would make again for sure.

  31. User avatar roy.cummerata says:

    1 star
Not my fav. The texture was off, and I didn’t like the almond milk taste.

  32. User avatar lucilla.feeney2011 says:

    3 stars
Maple syrup is too sweet. Shoulda used just honey, more natural!

    1. User avatar Dr. Ali Beatty says:

      4 stars
I see your point! Honey does have that lovely flavor. But maple syrup is like, a classic for a reason! Makes it sweet n yum!

    2. User avatar raylene.bahringer says:

      3 stars
But maple syrup is natural too! Not like that fake stuff! I like it better with maple more special flavor.

  33. User avatar shayne.hayes says:

    5 stars
This is such a solid grab-and-go breakfast. The peach + mango combo tastes like dessert but still feels healthy. I used honey and it was perfect.

    1. User avatar caren.cormier says:

      5 stars
Agreed! I’m always looking for something that actually tastes like a treat. I used honey too and it was *chef’s kiss*—not overly sweet but still dessert-y.

    2. User avatar Galaxia Woonbeam says:

      3 stars
I tried it but my jar kinda got watery the next morning 😕 I used frozen fruit and maybe my peaches were too runny? Still ate it tho—pretty good, just not as thick as I expected.

  34. User avatar lizzie.sporer says:

    1 star
Overnight oats? More like boring oats… Sorry not sorry.

  35. 5 stars
This is so easy and delicious! I added some nuts on top too.

  36. 5 stars
This combo of peach + mango is such a bright flavor for breakfast. I used frozen fruit and it turned out great after 8 hours—super creamy.

  37. User avatar flo.kuhlman33 says:

    3 stars
I ain’t got no almond milk, will regular milk work??

    1. User avatar ArabianNights says:

      4 stars
Yeah, regular milk should be fine! It might change the flavor a bit, but it’ll still be yummy.

  38. User avatar chi.moen78 says:

    5 stars
Deliciousness! I added cinnamon and it gave it a nice kick. Will definitely repeat!

    1. User avatar lester.koelpin8 says:

      2 stars
I don’t know about that… oats are kinda bland, even with fruit. But good for you for trying!

    2. User avatar bridgette.breitenberg says:

      5 stars
Yum! I love the idea of adding cinnamon. I bet it made a big difference!

  39. 5 stars
This sounds dangerously easy. I like that it’s basically just mix, refrigerate, and forget—perfect for busy mornings. The peach + mango combo is such a nice flavor match too.

    1. 5 stars
Right? I was expecting a bunch of steps, but this is literally stir and chill. I tried it with frozen fruit and it still came out great—sweet without needing much honey.

    2. 3 stars
Dangerously easy is exactly what I thought too lol. But I’m wondering—won’t the oats get too soggy if you leave them like 12+ hours? I like them thicker, like still a little chew.

  40. User avatar carroll.lowe says:

    5 stars
Wow!! Super easy and actually tasted like something I’d buy. I added a sprinkle of chia seeds too—highly recommend.

  41. 5 stars
This recipe is fantastic! I’ve made it three times this week. So easy and delicious!

  42. User avatar charisse.strosin12 says:

    3 stars
Does this really taste good? I don’t know if I want to try it. Can you really use frozen fruits? 🤔

  43. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    5 stars
This was soooo good! I added some chia seeds for extra health. Yum!

  44. 5 stars
Yum! I used regular milk instead of almond and it still turned out great. This is now my go-to breakfast. 😊

    1. 3 stars
but isn’t almond milk healthier? 🤔 I thought regular milk would make it too heavy or something. Still, glad it worked for you!

    2. User avatar rikki.conn2013 says:

      5 stars
That’s awesome! I love how versatile overnight oats can be. I’ve tried different milks too, and they all taste good, don’t they?

  45. User avatar marcel.altenwerth23 says:

    5 stars
This recipe is so easy and delicious! I added some chia seeds for extra texture. 5 stars!

  46. 3 stars
Too sweet for my taste—maybe because I used honey instead of maple syrup. Next time I’ll cut it down to 1 tsp.

    1. User avatar georgina.considine2012 says:

      5 stars
Good catch—honey can taste sweeter/heavier than maple syrup. Cutting it down is a smart move; I’m sure 1 tsp will balance it out nicely with the fruit.

  47. User avatar damian.koepp25 says:

    2 stars
Really? Overnight oats? Kinda weird if ya ask me. Oats should be cooked, not left in the fridge.

    1. User avatar thaddeus.schmeler6 says:

      4 stars
Overnight oats are actually super convenient! They absorb the milk and get nice and creamy. Give it a shot!

  48. User avatar Rosanna Yundt says:

    5 stars
I’m not sure about the shredded coconut topping. It sounded weird, but I did it and it actually made it better. Crunch + fruit = good.

    1. User avatar Luci Douglas says:

      3 stars
I tried shredded coconut once on oats and it clumped, like instantly 😅 Maybe I need to toast it first? Your results sound good though.

    2. User avatar anonymous_hacker says:

      5 stars
Honestly same—coconut sounded odd to me with fruit, but “crunch + fruit” is a perfect description. I’m stealing that combo next time.

  49. User avatar vivien.russel61 says:

    2 stars
I’m more of a savory oats person, so this was kinda meh for me. The fruit flavor is nice, though.

  50. 5 stars
I made it for my kids and they ate it all. So good for school mornings!

  51. User avatar jackie.hahn98 says:

    2 stars
Overnight oats always come out gummy for me? Like I can’t get the texture right. I followed the steps exactly and it was still kinda weird. Maybe my jar was too small??

    1. User avatar Virgilio Vandervort says:

      4 stars
Totally get that—overnight oats can go gummy if the oat-to-liquid ratio or chilling time is off. With your recipe (1/2 cup oats + 1/2 cup almond milk), it’s pretty thick already, so if your jar is smaller and the mix is packed, it can feel even more dense. I’d try using a wider container (more surface area), and make sure you’re using rolled oats (not quick oats). Also, if it’s too gummy in the morning, stir in 1–2 tbsp more almond milk before eating. Hope that fixes it!

  52. User avatar emory.gutmann says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but I’m skeptical about adding that much fruit right off the bat. I think fresh fruit would be better added in the morning so it doesn’t get too soft. Still, the smell was nice.

  53. User avatar jamika.medhurst1958 says:

    4 stars
Flavor is really good, but mine ended up a little thick after 8 hours. Next time I’ll add a splash more almond milk. Still worth making.

  54. User avatar carlos.howe22 says:

    2 stars
Is it really healthy? I thought oats are fattening? 🤔

    1. User avatar alisia.osinski17 says:

      3 stars
I dunno, I always thought oats were fattenin’ too. Maybe they are just in moderation? 🤷‍♂️

    2. User avatar Humma Kavula says:

      5 stars
Honestly, oats are super healthy! They’re packed with fiber and can help keep you full. It’s all about balance, I think. 😊

  55. User avatar valeri.marquardt82 says:

    5 stars
Best breakfast ever! So easy and quick in the morning.

  56. 5 stars
Wow—so good! I topped with shredded coconut and it was like dessert but healthy. My kid even asked for seconds 😅

    1. User avatar carisa.langworth says:

      5 stars
That sounds amazing 😄 Coconut on top is such a good idea. Love that your kid asked for seconds—overnight oats really do win like that!

  57. User avatar emanuel.keebler42 says:

    1 star
Can’t I just eat the fruits by themselves? 😂

  58. User avatar karren.wolff74 says:

    3 stars
Is it really that simple? I worry the oats won’t soak up enough milk.

    1. User avatar carolynn.damore23 says:

      5 stars
Yes, it’s super simple! I was worried too, but trust me, the oats absorb the milk overnight just fine! They turn out creamy and delicious!

  59. User avatar reggie.littel says:

    2 stars
I don’t get the hype around overnight oats. They just taste like mush to me. Not a fan. 2 stars.

  60. User avatar latisha.kunze61 says:

    3 stars
Just okay. Kinda bland. Maybe add cinnamon? 🤷‍♀️

  61. 4 stars
So yummy and healthy! I added chia seeds too. Gotta be healthy!

  62. User avatar jalisa.zemlak38 says:

    5 stars
    Mmm good

    1. User avatar byron.kilback65 says:

      5 stars
Mmm I agree—overnight oats always slap. The peach + mango combo sounds so refreshing, definitely trying this!

    2. User avatar Raymon Jacobi says:

      3 stars
“Overnight” sounds scary lol, like do I need to add ice? Also can I use regular milk? 😅

  63. 3 stars
I found it a bit bland. Maybe I should add some nuts or cinnamon next time.

    1. User avatar Trin Tragula says:

      4 stars
I actually thought it was pretty tasty! But adding nuts or cinnamon sounds like a great idea for extra flavor. 🌰

  64. User avatar devon.sipes46 says:

Looks good, but is it really that easy? I’ve tried overnight recipes before and they were meh.

  66. User avatar Humma Kavula says:

    3 stars
This is too healthy for me lol. I added some Greek yogurt because it felt like it needed more protein. Still good, just not as light.

  67. User avatar carmela.abbott says:

    5 stars
I made it with honey instead of maple syrup and added chia seeds. Creamy overnight and the fruit held up well. Great meal prep option!

  68. User avatar Desiree Hill says:

    4 stars
Overnight oats are the best! I made it with strawberries instead of peaches. Still great!

  69. User avatar Carole Crist says:

    5 stars
This is such a good flavor combo—peach + mango with vanilla is basically dessert for breakfast. I used regular milk once and it still worked, but almond milk makes it feel lighter. Would 100% make again.

  70. User avatar wilbert.lind71 says:

    2 stars
Mango and peach? Sounds weird. I prefer my oats plain. 🤷‍♂️

  71. User avatar rutha.watsica says:

    3 stars
I think it could be better if the oats were cooked first. Just a thought. 🤔 3 stars.

  72. 4 stars
Never made overnight oats before, but this recipe makes it look simple! Can’t wait to try it. ☺️

  73. User avatar bret.bosco52 says:

    5 stars
This was sooo good! I loved the combo of peaches and mango!

    1. User avatar elmer.kohler71 says:

      2 stars
Hmmm, sounds good but isn’t oatmeal kinda bland? I dunno if I’d like it.

    2. User avatar amee.carter76 says:

      5 stars
I totally agree! I made it too and it was amazing. So refreshing!

  74. 4 stars
Pretty good, but I think the maple syrup/honey might be a bit much for me. I’ll cut it down next batch and see.

  75. User avatar jayne.dubuque1997 says:

    5 stars
    Best breakfast! 👍🍑🍑

  76. User avatar karl.orn1956 says:

    3 stars
I dunno about almond milk, is that the same as regular milk? 🤔

  77. 4 stars
Sounds interesting but what if I just skip the fruit? Gotta try this for my meal prep tho.

  78. 2 stars
Overnight oats are overrated. Oats always taste like cardboard to me. But I’ll admit the peaches helped a bit.

  79. 3 stars
I love peach and mango but it was a bit too sweet with the syrup. I might skip it next time. 3/5.

  80. User avatar jewel.wiza23 says:

    2 stars
I don’t get the hype. Almond milk tastes kinda weird in oats unless you add a lot of sweetness. Mine was kinda bland.

    1. User avatar shane.morar22 says:

      2 stars
Idk I tried it w/ unsweetened almond milk and it was… meh. Maybe my peaches/mango werent sweet enough? Next time I’ll use regular milk or more honey.

    2. User avatar fredrick.lind40 says:

      4 stars
Totally get you—unsweetened almond milk can make overnight oats taste a little flat. I usually bump the maple syrup to 2 tbsp or add a pinch of cinnamon, and it’s way better.

  81. User avatar dominique.macgyver says:

    5 stars
This recipe is so easy and delicious! I made it for breakfast and it was so refreshing. 5 stars for sure!

  82. 1 star
No way my kids will eat this. They like their oats warm, not cold. 1 star.

  83. User avatar fae.romaguera says:

    4 stars
So easy! I used honey and forgot to stir at all (oops) but still came out pretty good after overnight.

  84. 4 stars
I used frozen fruit and it tasted icy at first, but after stirring in the morning it was way better. The sweetness is perfect with maple syrup.

  85. User avatar grasshopper says:

    2 stars
I tried this with just the oats and almond milk. It was boring. Needs more flavor!

  86. 5 stars
Overnight oats for breakfast rock! Quick and easy! Perfect for busy mornings!

  87. 3 stars
Not bad, but 1/2 cup almond milk felt a bit too little for my oats. I ended up adding a splash more before bed.

    1. User avatar smartestRedditor says:

      5 stars
Totally get that—overnight oats can vary a lot by how absorbent the oats are. A small extra splash in the morning (or even before bed) seems like the move. I usually wait until after the first stir, then adjust the texture.

Gonna be honest, “overnight oats” can be kinda boring… but the peaches and mango might save it. Also I don’t have vanilla extract right now so I’ll probably use cinnamon.

The instructions are clear, but I wish it said what container size to use. I used a small jar and it overflowed a bit.

Good point! I usually do about a 16–20 oz jar (or any 500–600 ml container) so it doesn’t creep over. The exact amount can vary depending on how tightly packed the fruit is.

I dont have mango. Can I use bananas instead? 😕

Why do we have to refrigerate overnight? Can’t I just eat it right away? Feels silly.

Delicious! My kids gobbled it up, even the picky one! 🍑🥭

I don’t trust recipes that say “stir well” like it’s always the same. My jar is the wrong size so it never fully mixes unless I really shake it.

I tried this and my jar leaked a little in the fridge—so make sure the lid is tight lol. Taste was amazing anyway.

Not sure about the sweetener amount—1 tbsp maple syrup or honey feels like it could be either perfect or way too much depending on the fruit. Anyone try it with less?

Overnight oats are overrated. I tried it once and they always taste like soggy cereal. Same vibe here.

This was super easy and actually tastes like dessert but still feels healthy. I used frozen mango and it was perfect—won’t go back to regular oatmeal.

Totally agree—frozen fruit makes it taste way more like dessert. I did this with mango too and it was gone in like two sittings 😅

I don’t get the hype around overnight oats. They just taste bland to me. Maybe I did something wrong. 2/5.

Mine came out a little bland. Next time I’ll add a pinch of cinnamon or a tiny bit more vanilla. Maybe my mango was less sweet?

Not my favorite. I expected more flavors. 😕

Tried this today and it’s pretty good, not gonna lie. I’m not a big fan of chia or anything, so overnight oats are my thing. Would make again.

Peach + mango sounds kinda awesome lol. I’m gonna try it but I might use regular milk instead of almond. Overnight oats make me think of like… school lunches though 😅

Love hearing that! I’m also not really into chia—overnight oats all the way. Did you notice how sweet the fruit comes through with the maple/honey?

  102. User avatar karole.cormier22 says:

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about 1/2 cup almond milk with that much fruit, but it still came out like a perfect texture. Sweet enough with the honey.

I made something similar before and it always turned out too thick for me—maybe I’ll add a splash more almond milk. Still, the overnight part is awesome.

This sounds like a super refreshing breakfast—peach + mango combo is such a vibe. I like that it’s basically prep-and-forget.

Might try it, but I’m not sure about the amount of fruit—like 1 whole cup? Won’t it get too watery overnight? Also I only have regular milk, not almond—should be fine right?

Yes!! Peach + mango in overnight oats is such a bright combo. “Prep-and-forget” is exactly what I need on busy mornings 😄

I didn’t have peach slices, so I used strawberries—still tasty, but it wasn’t the same vibe. The vanilla helps a lot though.

  106. 3 stars
I forgot to stir in the morning and it was a little gloopy on one side, but after a proper stir it was still delicious. Vanilla makes it taste “bakery-ish.”

I like the idea, but 1/2 cup almond milk with 1/2 cup oats seems too dry. Also, do you have to refrigerate for EXACTLY 8 hours? I did like 5 and it was meh.

    1. User avatar carrol.pfannerstill19 says:

Totally get the “too dry” concern—oats can vary a lot. If it’s coming out thick for you, try adding a splash more almond milk (like 1–2 tbsp) next time. The fruit also releases liquid overnight, so fresh vs frozen can change the texture too.

Wow! 8 hours and it’s ready? I swear I always mess it up somehow. But this recipe looks straightforward. I’m adding shredded coconut like the last step says.

Pretty tasty, but I found it a bit too sweet with honey. Next time I’ll cut the maple syrup in half. Also, mine got thick after 8 hours—still good though!

  110. User avatar lanny.aufderhar97 says:

Mine got kinda thick like paste after 8 hours—maybe my almond milk was too low or the oats were old? Still ate it though. Flavor was nice.

Overnight oats are overrated. Oats taste like sad cardboard unless you drown them in sugar. This one was fine, I guess.
