Grilled Prosciutto-Wrapped Peaches

July 29, 2024

This delightful appetizer combines the sweetness of juicy peaches with the savory richness of prosciutto, all grilled to perfection.

Grilled Prosciutto-Wrapped Peaches are a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, making them an irresistible appetizer or side dish for your summer gatherings. This simple yet elegant dish combines the juicy sweetness of ripe peaches with the salty, savory richness of prosciutto, all enhanced by the smoky char from grilling. It’s the ideal way to highlight the best of summer’s fresh produce while adding a unique twist.

The key to this dish lies in the contrast between the sweetness of the peaches and the saltiness of the prosciutto. The prosciutto crisps up beautifully when grilled, creating a crunchy texture that contrasts with the tender, caramelized peaches. The natural sugars in the peaches intensify as they grill, creating a smoky-sweet flavor that pairs perfectly with the salty prosciutto.

To prepare this dish, simply slice ripe peaches in half, remove the pits, and wrap each half with a slice of prosciutto. The prosciutto’s thin, delicate texture allows it to wrap around the peaches easily, providing a subtle yet bold flavor. A quick grill over medium heat is all it takes for the prosciutto to become crisp and the peaches to soften and develop a smoky char.

For added complexity, you can drizzle the grilled peaches with a touch of balsamic glaze or sprinkle with fresh herbs like basil or thyme. The balsamic adds a tangy sweetness that complements the fruit, while the herbs introduce a fresh, aromatic note. A sprinkle of goat cheese or ricotta salata also adds a creamy element that rounds out the dish beautifully.

Grilled Prosciutto-Wrapped Peaches are perfect for outdoor dinners, picnics, or as a delightful addition to any charcuterie board. They’re quick to prepare, visually stunning, and packed with flavor, making them a crowd-pleasing choice for any occasion.

Peaches and prosciutto? Sounds weird. Isn’t that too sweet and salty? I don’t know about this recipe.

  2. 2 stars
Why would you grill peaches? That’s just weird. I prefer my peaches fresh, this seems wrong.

I dunno, seems kinda odd to me too. But maybe it’s a fancy thing? Who knows.

Grilling peaches brings out their sweetness and adds a smoky flavor! It’s amazing, trust me!

Meh, not sure I get the hype. It’s just fruit and meat. Could be good, but I expected more flavor. 2 stars.

My whole family loved this! I used bacon instead of prosciutto and it worked fine.

  6. User avatar pia.kovacek says:

I didn’t have prosciutto, so I tried it with bacon instead. It was okay, but I bet it’s way better with the right ingredients. 😅

I liked the flavor combo, but mine were a little mushy on the inside. Maybe my peaches weren’t firm enough. Still tasty though, next time I’ll pick slightly underripe.

Oof mushy peaches are the worst. I usually chill them first? Also 3–4 min might be too long if your grill runs hot—mine burns hot and I have to do like 2–3 mins. Still sounds delish tho.

    2. User avatar ellie.fay says:

      4 stars
That makes sense—3–4 min a side can still leave them soft if the peaches are super ripe. Next time try firmer peaches *and* maybe pull them as soon as you see grill marks, not wait too long.

Not bad. Kinda weird at first, but the salty hits the honey and its decent. Would eat again.

I dunno, sounds kinda weird to grill peaches… does anyone actually eat this?

  10. User avatar bernie.abernathy says:

Is prosciutto the same as salami? This isn’t worth my confusion.

  11. 2 stars
I don’t know, I thought peaches were for desserts, not grilled like this. Seems weird.

  12. User avatar yer.rempel34 says:

Too much fuss for fruit if u ask me. Peaches r good on their own. Honey? Why do you need honey? Just eat them as they are!

  13. User avatar Killer Bees says:

    4 stars
This is giving summer vibes. I was skeptical about grilling fruit, but the cook time is spot-on and the honey at the end is the move.

Why would you put ham on fruit? This is just weird.

    1. 5 stars
I know it sounds strange, but it’s actually delicious! The sweet peaches and salty prosciutto make a great combo.

    2. User avatar marica.fisher says:

Don’t knock it till you try it! But honestly, ham on fruit? Sounds gross to me…

  15. User avatar casie.heathcote1958 says:

    3 stars
I tried this but the prosciutto didn’t crisp up like I thought it would. Kind of soggy, honestly. Not sure if I did something wrong.

  16. 3 stars
Too much salt, please tell me there is supposed to be sugar in this or something.

Tried this and it went terribly wrong! The prosciutto burned before the peaches were even warm. What did I do wrong?

    1. User avatar takisha.erdman says:

      4 stars
Maybe your grill was too hot? Try turning it down a bit next time. The peaches need time to warm up nicely without burning the prosciutto.

  25. 5 stars
Tried this last weekend—so good. The peaches went juicy and the prosciutto got that perfect salty-crispy edge. I added a tiny squeeze of lemon at the end and it made it pop.

  26. 5 stars
Delicious. Made it for my BBQ party and everybody loved it. #winning

I made this for a BBQ, and everyone loved it! Definitely a keeper. So easy too!

  29. User avatar marna.streich2004 says:

Okay but why is it ‘grilled’ when it’s more like charred fruit? Still tasty though. 8/10.

  30. User avatar catina.kilback1 says:

    4 stars

  33. User avatar micah.grady16 says:

Grilled peaches? Sounds weird! But hey, it’s fruit, so it can’t be that bad. I’ll give it a try sometime. 🤷‍♂️

  34. 4 stars
So good! Used basil instead of prosciutto and it still turned out great! 🥳

    1. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

      4 stars
That sounds interesting! Basil is a unique touch. I’ll have to try that next time!

  35. User avatar jackelyn.adams52 says:

This dish is absolutely delicious! The sweet and savory combo is to die for. My family loved it!

    1. User avatar derrick.dickinson8 says:

I totally agree! This is one of my favorite recipes! So easy and simply delicious.

Why would you waste cantaloupes on this? They are way better. I will stick with my fruit salad.

    1. User avatar Leida Schultz says:

      5 stars
I think this combo sounds amazing! Peaches and prosciutto are a match made in heaven. Can’t wait to try it!

  38. User avatar jacquline.koepp says:

I followed the recipe but my peaches burned.😩 Maybe grill was too hot?

  39. User avatar fred.schaefer10 says:

    5 stars
These were surprisingly amazing—sweet, salty, and smoky all at once. The grill marks looked like a restaurant plate. I used slightly less honey and it was still perfect.

    1. User avatar Dr. Jeremy Mertz says:

      4 stars
Wait—3-4 minutes each side? I think I would burn the honey portion if I drizzle at the end like that. Still, sounds good… I’m gonna try but maybe add honey after grilling. Anyone else?

    2. User avatar Lunkwill and Fook says:

      5 stars
Agreed! I made these last weekend and they totally hit that sweet/salty/smoky sweet spot. My grill marks also looked way better than I expected 😄

  40. User avatar greg.powlowski52 says:

    3 stars
I think 6 minutes total might be too long for smaller peaches—mine got too soft and started to fall apart.
