Beef and Snow Pea Stir-Fry Salad

August 9, 2023

If you’re looking for a fresh, healthy, and satisfying meal, a Beef and Snow Pea Stir-Fry Salad is the perfect choice. This dish combines tender strips of beef with crisp, crunchy snow peas and a variety of vibrant vegetables, all tossed together in a savory stir-fry sauce. The result is a colorful salad that’s not only delicious but also packed with nutrients.

The beauty of this salad lies in its versatility. You can easily customize it to your taste by adding your favorite vegetables, such as bell peppers, carrots, or cucumbers. The beef, sautéed quickly in a hot pan, retains its juiciness, creating a perfect contrast to the crunchy snow peas. The vegetables maintain their crispness, adding texture and color to the dish.

The stir-fry sauce, made with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and a hint of honey or brown sugar, brings everything together with its sweet, salty, and slightly tangy flavors. This combination perfectly complements the beef and vegetables, making each bite full of flavor.

This salad is an excellent option for a quick weeknight dinner or a light lunch. It’s also a great dish to prepare in advance, as the flavors develop even further after sitting for a little while. Just be sure to keep the dressing separate until you’re ready to serve to maintain the freshness of the vegetables.

Another benefit of this salad is its nutritional value. Beef is an excellent source of protein and iron, while snow peas provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Together, they create a well-rounded meal that will keep you feeling satisfied and energized throughout the day.

In conclusion, a Beef and Snow Pea Stir-Fry Salad offers a perfect balance of flavors, textures, and nutrients, making it a great addition to your meal rotation. With its light yet filling nature, it’s a dish that works well in any season, whether you’re craving something light in the summer or warming in the wint

Snow peas and bell pepper are great, but mine got overcooked because I got distracted. Next time I’ll prep everything first—this recipe moves fast!

I never liked snow peas before, but this dish has changed my mind! Love the mix of flavors.

    1. User avatar Galaxia Woonbeam says:

      5 stars
I agree! This dish is amazing. Who knew snow peas could taste so good? They’re like little green crunchy gems!

  3. User avatar racheal.hilpert1979 says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty but I had to use low-sodium soy sauce. Otherwise it would’ve been way too salty for me.

  4. User avatar winford.hauck2012 says:

This tastes like restaurant food. I didn’t have flank steak so I used skirt and it worked. Would recommend to anyone who likes quick stir-fries.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—this has that “takeout” vibe. I made it for a weeknight and it tasted like something I’d order. Nice swap with the skirt steak!

  5. User avatar palmer.heathcote90 says:

    5 stars
This recipe is amazing! The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the beef came out so tender. Definitely a 5-star dish for the family! 🍽️

  6. User avatar Stacee Treutel says:

    4 stars
I love cilantro, but it can be weirdly overpowering. I’d use less or add it at the end for sure. Also high heat + cornstarch usually makes a nice coating, so I’m optimistic.

  7. User avatar Mr. Clifford Kovacek says:

    5 stars
Yum! I added some cashews because I love nuts. It’s a great combo! Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    1. User avatar mika.dietrich38 says:

      2 stars
Nuts in a stir-fry? Sounds kinda weird! But if you liked it, good for you. I’ll stick to the original recipe tho.

    2. 4 stars
I love cashews too, but I wonder if they really fit in a beef dish? 🤔 Anyway, your enthusiasm is contagious! Trying it this weekend!

  8. User avatar matt.oberbrunner46 says:

Just tried this recipe and my family loved it! Will definitely make again.

  9. 4 stars
I didn’t have snow peas so I used regular peas. Still tasted good! Maybe next time I’ll actually follow the recipe.

    1. User avatar Falmer Gloomlurker says:

      5 stars
Glad to hear it still turned out good! Peas are peas, right? 😄

  10. 1 star
Shaking my head, didn’t turn out as good as I thought. My stir-fry skills are not great.

    1. User avatar Hotblack Desiato says:

      4 stars
Don’t be too hard on yourself! Stir-fry can be tricky. Just keep practicing and it will get better!

  11. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

    5 stars
My first time cooking flank steak like this and it came out tender! The sauce clinged really nice. Cilantro on top is a must.

  12. User avatar donnell.feil2022 says:

    3 stars
I followed the steps and it turned out okay, but the sauce separated a bit when I tossed it. Maybe my cornstarch didn’t dissolve enough?

    1. User avatar Spider Worker says:

      4 stars
I think your instincts are right. If the cornstarch doesn’t fully hydrate, it can break and leave a watery layer. I usually dissolve it in a little of the soy sauce first (or warm it slightly) before mixing everything.

    2. User avatar king.greenfelder says:

      4 stars
That sounds like classic cornstarch/cold sauce separation. Next time I’d whisk it longer and let the beef sit a few minutes before cooking, then toss off-heat or return briefly after adding the vinegar/honey mix.

  13. User avatar arline.okuneva91 says:

    sesame oil good

  14. User avatar mathew.donnelly75 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m not a fan of sesame oil, so I used less. Still good, but the flavor profile is definitely strong—like Asian-inspired strong.

  15. User avatar craig.maggio says:

    2 stars
    Two words: too sticky.

  16. User avatar ethelene.schuster says:

This is a good recipe but 1 tbsp of ginger is a bit overkill. i put too much!

    Five stars. No notes. 😅

  18. User avatar kent.bosco1958 says:

My family loved it. The ginger smell while cooking is amazing. Definitely making this again for meal prep.

    1. User avatar leandra.johnston says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—ginger really makes the whole kitchen smell incredible. I meal prepped it too and it reheats great. 👍

  19. User avatar Dan Streetmentioner says:

Sounds good, but didn’t you forget to mention the amount of salt? I put too much, 🤦‍♂️. 2 stars!

  20. User avatar azzie.schroeder1951 says:

5 stars for sure! The ginger and garlic combo rocks! So freshy! Can’t wait to make it again.

  24. User avatar margene.mayer says:

    3 stars
Not sure about the honey amount—1/4 cup maybe? 2 tbsp seems kinda light to balance the soy sauce. Still, I like sweet-savory, so I’ll try it and see.

  25. 5 stars
    Five stars!!!

    1. 5 stars
Five stars right back! This looks way more flavorful than a basic stir-fry—love the honey + sesame combo. I’m totally making this soon.

    2. User avatar geoWizard says:

      3 stars
I dunno… “salad” but it says serve warm or chilled, so is it actually a salad or just stir-fry in disguise? Still sounds tasty though. Also, 1/4 cup soy sauce feels like a lot for me.

  26. User avatar sheridan.oconnell2008 says:

    2 stars
I tried this last night and my kids wouldn’t eat it. They said it was too spicy even tho I didn’t put much garlic. I give it a 2.

  27. 4 stars
Good flavor, but my beef got a little chewy. I think I overcooked it by like a minute—next time I’ll keep it closer to 3 minutes.

  28. 3 stars
I tried this but used chicken instead of beef. It was okay, but not the same. 🤷‍♂️

  29. 4 stars
I was skeptical about the honey in this, but it surprisingly worked! Nice balance!

  30. User avatar wellRespected says:

    5 stars
This sounds dangerously tasty—sweet, savory, and a little tangy. I’m tempted to meal-prep it for the week. The crisp-tender veg is the key, right?

    1. User avatar obdulia.beer says:

      4 stars
Dangerously tasty is right 😅 I do 3 minutes on the veg max. Also, I use a little extra ginger because… why not.

    2. User avatar Ice Wraith says:

      5 stars
Yep—crisp-tender is the whole magic trick. If the snow peas go mushy it loses that fresh stir-fry crunch. I meal-prep it too; just keep the dressing separate until you’re ready so it stays lively.

  31. User avatar wellRespected says:

    3 stars
I didn’t have snow peas so I used snap peas. Same idea, and it worked. Only thing: my pan was too crowded so the veggies steamed instead of crisp-tender. Learn from my suffering.

  32. 3 stars
I followed this recipe but forgot the honey – it was still okay. Just needed more sweetness!

    1. User avatar Hillman Hunter says:

      4 stars
Honey or no honey, beef stir-fry is always bomb! Sometimes I actually forget it too and didn’t mind at all. Glad it turned out okay for you!

  33. User avatar shana.goldner10 says:

    5 stars
This looks seriously good—garlic + ginger + sesame oil is a combo I always trust. I’d maybe add a pinch of chili flakes for a little kick, but overall sounds spot on.

  34. User avatar sonny.howe says:

    4 stars
I was skeptical about honey with soy sauce, but wow. The sauce clings to everything. Cilantro on top is the move.

  35. 1 star
Eh… idk, I think I’d rather just have a burger. This was just weird.

    1. 4 stars
But burgers aren’t everything! This might surprise you if you give it a chance. Try it out!

  36. 4 stars
Honestly, I’m skeptical about 1 tbsp ginger being enough for 1 lb steak, but it was fine. The flavor was not overpowering—just right. I’ll keep this in rotation.

    1. 5 stars
Yeah I was skeptical too. 1 tbsp ginger sounds small for that much steak, but I guess the marinade/dressing balances it. Glad it worked for you!

    2. 5 stars
I tried this and felt the ginger was actually pretty subtle, not overpowering at all. Love that it doesn’t take over the soy/vinegar flavors.

  37. User avatar Glorfindel says:

    5 stars
This was absolutely delicious! The flavors work so well together!

    1. User avatar lino.ziemann45 says:

      5 stars
I totally agree! This recipe is a game changer. Where do you find snow peas though?

  38. User avatar joe.howell75 says:

    2 stars
Just average. I’d prefer a simpler salad. Not much into stir-fry.

    1. 3 stars
But this one is healthy! Trust me, once you try it, you might change your mind. More veggies the better!

    2. User avatar henrietta.hermiston83 says:

      4 stars
I totally get you! Stir-fry can be a bit overwhelming with all those flavors. A simple salad is sometimes just what you need. 🌿

  39. User avatar jamie.johns says:

    4 stars
Quick and easy to make! Just like my old stir-fry recipe but with the snow peas, it added a nice crunch. Will make again for sure!

  40. User avatar Wonko the Sane says:

    4 stars
Beef & snow peas???? Sounds weird but tastes great! Good job!

  41. User avatar magdalene.thompson1996 says:

    5 stars
Wow! Amazing recipe! The combo of flavors is incredible. Definitely making this again! 🌟

  42. User avatar corrin.schaden2003 says:

    4 stars
Beef is not good. I used chicken instead. Is venison good too? Confused but I liked the sauce a lot. 4 stars.

    1. User avatar erin.yost73 says:

      4 stars
Venison? That’s kinda interesting! I’ve never thought of that. But yeah, this sauce is the real star here. Chicken works too! Thanks for sharing!

  43. User avatar bruce.kassulke44 says:

    5 stars
This sounds like a great sweet-savory balance. I like that it works warm or chilled—perfect for meal prep.

  44. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

    4 stars
Yummy! But can I swap the beef for chicken? I don’t eat red meat.

  45. 5 stars
Soy sauce + honey + sesame oil… ok that’s basically my personality in food form. I’d eat this warm, then immediately chill the leftovers and pretend I planned it.

    1. 5 stars
Ok but the warm-then-chill leftovers thing? Relatable. The honey + sesame oil dressing sounds dangerously good—like sweet-salty with a nutty finish.

    2. User avatar Lunkwill and Fook says:

      3 stars
I’m not sure about honey in a stir-fry salad… feels a little too dessert-y. I’d maybe cut it in half and see.

  46. 5 stars
Made it exactly as written and my veggies stayed nice and crisp. The dressing clings well, though I might add a bit more cilantro next time.

    1. 5 stars
That’s awesome—nice to hear the veggies stayed crisp. I always worry the snow peas will get soft, so your result sounds spot on. More cilantro sounds like a great tweak!

  47. User avatar merrill.mcdermott1969 says:

    4 stars
    wow 😅

  48. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, I used ground ginger instead of fresh and it still tasted fine. Could be better, but it’s a solid quick dinner.

  49. User avatar sheldon.glover11 says:

    1 star
What’s the deal with snow peas? Never heard of em!

  50. User avatar max.parisian50 says:

    5 stars
Made this for dinner and it was a hit. The sauce is sweet-savory and the veggies stay really crisp. I used flank steak like suggested and cooked it fast—tender not chewy.

  51. User avatar wellRespected says:

    5 stars
This is such a great balance of sweet, salty, and fresh. I doubled the garlic and it still worked—super flavorful!

  52. User avatar nancie.turner1973 says:

    2 stars
Uh, what’s cornstarch for? I just winged it and skipped. How important is it really?

    1. 4 stars
Cornstarch is kinda important! It helps to tenderize the beef and thickens the sauce. Without it, your stir-fry might not have the same texture. I wouldn’t skip it next time!

  53. User avatar vance.larkin4 says:

    5 stars
Really liked how fresh the dish tasted. My kids even ate the snow peas, wow!

  54. 3 stars
Really good but too sweet for me. The honey plus sesame oil is a lot. Next time I’ll cut honey in half and maybe add a squeeze of lime for bite.

  55. User avatar santos.lindgren2026 says:

    4 stars
Sesame oil + honey sounds too sweet to me… I was wrong though. Still, I’ll add extra ginger next time. 😅

  56. 5 stars
The dressing is the star. Sesame oil + rice vinegar = instant upgrade. I used regular bell pepper and added extra cilantro because I’m that person.

  57. 5 stars
Making this for the 3rd time! It’s become a family favorite! So easy and tasty!

  58. User avatar porfirio.flatley74 says:

    3 stars
It was okay, but the beef turned out chewy. I think I overcooked it.

    1. 4 stars
Maybe try slicing the beef thinner or cook it for less time next time? That might help with the chewiness.

  59. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
Weird question: is 1 lb flank steak too much for this amount of veggies? Also, “warm or chilled” is nice but chilling stir-fry can make the snow peas lose crunch (at least for me).

    1. User avatar lavonna.altenwerth73 says:

      4 stars
Maybe a little much for a “salad,” but flank steak is thin sliced so it cooks fast and gets sauced well. I’d keep it if you want protein-forward—otherwise increase veggies.

    2. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

      4 stars
I don’t think 1 lb is too much—veggies are only 8 oz snow peas here, but you’ve got bell pepper + onions too, so it feels like a hearty salad. If you want more veggie-forward, cut to 3/4 lb or add extra snow peas/peppers.

  60. User avatar Zaphod Beeblebrox says:

    3 stars
Not a fan of snow peas, could I use broccoli instead? Any thoughts?

  61. 3 stars
it was ok. idk if i did it right, cooking am not my thing.

  62. 4 stars
I tried something similar but your ratio of honey + rice vinegar looks spot on. I’d add extra ginger next time though.

  63. User avatar Sharyn O'Reilly says:

    3 stars
I had to change a few things because I didn’t have snow peas. Used broccoli instead, but it still tasted okay. I think a 3 is fair.

  64. 5 stars
wonderful! def gonna try sum variation of this for sure.

  65. 5 stars
This was absolutely delicious! The flavors were on point! ❤️

  66. User avatar cindie.jerde82 says:

    4 stars
I used chicken instead of beef. Is that okay? Still turned out fine!

  67. 1 star
not my fav. stir fry doesn’t belong in salad. 1/10 would not eat again.

    1. User avatar rene.will25 says:

      4 stars
I get where you’re coming from, but I think stir-fry can add a nice kick to salads! Maybe try it with different veggies next time? 🤷‍♂️

  68. 4 stars
Snow peas + steak is a weird match but honestly it works. I also added some crushed red pepper for heat—highly recommend.

  69. User avatar marian.ferry says:

    5 stars
This is so tasty! I thought it would be bland but wow, so much flavor!!

    1. 5 stars
I’m so glad you loved it! It really is packed with flavor, isn’t it? I was a bit surprised myself the first time I made it!

  70. 4 stars
My kids loved it! They ate all the veggies! 😁

  71. User avatar Alia Atreides says:

    4 stars
So good, but I think I added too much honey by accident. Still tasted nice tho!

  72. User avatar virgil.fadel2 says:

    2 stars
Too much soy sauce! It was way too salty for my taste.

  73. 5 stars
Quick and easy! My kids loved it! Will definitely make again.

    1. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

      3 stars
Looks good but I’m not a fan of snow peas. Can I use something else?

    2. 5 stars
I’m glad to hear your kids enjoyed it! This is super easy and tasty. Do you have any tips for making it even better?

  74. User avatar Mohamed Volkman says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have snow peas, so I used broccoli instead. Still came out great!

    1. 5 stars
Broccoli is a good substitute! I’m glad it worked out for you. Can’t wait to try it myself!

  75. 5 stars
This was amazing! The flavors were on point and it was super easy to make.

  76. User avatar earleen.hilpert77 says:

Not my cup of tea. The dressing was too tangy for my liking. I miss plain beef. 3 stars because my husband liked it.

  77. User avatar dorinda.jerde1953 says:

    1 star
This recipe uses way too many ingredients and took forever to make. I won’t be back.

  78. 2 stars
The instructions were kinda confusing. Like, when do I add the rice vinegar??

  79. 5 stars
Made this for lunch and it actually stayed crisp even after tossing with the sauce. The ginger/garlic combo smells amazing. I halved the honey and it was still plenty sweet for me.

  80. User avatar granville.mclaughlin says:

    5 stars
This recipe was AMAZING! So quick and easy. Definitely making it again!

  81. User avatar clement.pfeffer23 says:

    4 stars
This tastes like a decent takeout stir-fry, but calling it a ‘salad’ feels optimistic lol. I ate it warm and it was great—maybe I’d add lettuce next time.

    1. User avatar hannelore.spencer says:

      5 stars
Haha I get what you mean—mine definitely feels more like a warm stir-fry than a classic salad. But the rice vinegar + sesame oil combo is so good I don’t mind. Lettuce probably would be great though!

  82. User avatar wally.ryan says:

    5 stars
This sounds like a perfect quick weeknight thing—beef + crisp-tender snow peas is such a good combo. I’d probably add some chili flakes for a little kick. Great balance with the honey + vinegar dressing.

  83. 4 stars
Whoa cilantro at the end? I love cilantro but my partner hates it. Any thoughts on swapping with parsley or just leave it out? Still would be good, I think.

  84. User avatar tammie.brown says:

    3 stars
Not very fond of steak, but this was alright. Just a bit too salty for my taste.

  85. 4 stars
I made something similar, and the sauce was the star. 3-4 minutes for flank steak is perfect if you don’t overcook. Crisp-tender snow peas are the move.

  86. User avatar alberto.haley28 says:

    4 stars
Could use more salt/pepper guidance. I went by “to taste” and ended up under-seasoning the first batch, but once I fixed it, it was great.

    1. User avatar katherin.kutch59 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—“to taste” is tricky when soy sauce + vinegar + honey are already doing a lot. I ended up starting with a little more salt/pepper in the dressing right away and it saved me.

  87. User avatar Colin the Security Robot says:

    4 stars
I used less honey because I’m watching sugar. Still tasty, but I miss that sticky glaze vibe. Also, cilantro is mandatory, otherwise it feels kinda flat to me.

  88. User avatar Hillman Hunter says:

    1 star
Meh, I didn’t like it. Beef was tough and the dressing was too sweet for my taste. Not for me. 1 star.

  89. User avatar jimmy.hudson80 says:

    2 stars
I followed everything, but it turned out way too salty. Anyone else have this problem?

    1. User avatar Yooden Vranx says:

      3 stars
Salt? I didn’t add any extra and it was perfect! Maybe you put in too much soy sauce?

    2. User avatar Falmer Nightprowler says:

      4 stars
I think the soy sauce has a lot of salt. Maybe use less next time? It’s always a good idea to taste as you go.

  90. User avatar wellRespected says:

    3 stars
I dunno, this seemed a bit bland to me. Maybe more spices next time?

  91. 5 stars
So good! I tried adding peanuts on top. It gave it that extra crunch! Yum!

    1. User avatar Barliman Butterbur says:

The ingredient list says 8 ounces snow peas, but in step 4 you just toss them in. Should I blanch first? Also, 3–4 minutes for flank steak—seems short, it might go chewy.

3-4 min for flank steak is short only if it’s cut very thin (like stir-fry thin). If yours are thicker, they’ll get chewy—try 2-3 min more or slice even thinner.

I’d probably blanch the snow peas for 30-60 seconds if you want them extra crisp. Step 4’s 2-3 min might be fine depending on how thin you sliced/trimmed them, but blanching buys you reliability.

Quick and easy! My kids actually ate their veggies! 😂 I added some carrots too; they went well with it.

Quick? I don’t know about that. Seems like too many steps. Can’t just toss it all in the pan? 🤔

Sounds delicious! I love when kids eat their veggies. Adding carrots was a smart move! 🥕

I followed the steps pretty closely, but my beef turned out a little tough. Probably sliced it too thick. Otherwise flavors were balanced—sweet, salty, tangy. Would try again with thinner slices.

Quick and easy! Perfect for a weeknight dinner. Will make again!

I think there’s too much soy sauce! It made everything too salty. Maybe less next time.

  98. User avatar Daedric Prince says:

I made something kinda similar but used regular sugar instead of honey and it wasn’t as good. Your dressing sounds way more balanced. Might try with less sesame oil though—too much can overpower.

Why not use chicken? Beef is too fatty, right?

    1. User avatar newton.murphy1953 says:

      4 stars
I think chicken would work too, but beef gives it a richer flavor. Plus, the fat can be good for cooking!

Not sure if snow peas are supposed to be crunchy or not. Mine were kinda mushy. 🤔

    1. User avatar hiram.doyle4 says:

      4 stars
Snow peas should be crunchy! Sounds like they were overcooked. Try cooking them for just a couple of minutes next time!

    2. 3 stars
Mushy? That ain’t right! They supposed to snap when you bite! Maybe steam them less?

Stir-fried at high heat and everything cooked fast—maybe too fast for my pan. Bell pepper got a bit soft, but it was still yummy.

    1. User avatar luise.vandervort85 says:

      4 stars
Yeah, high heat can be tricky—my bell pepper usually stays crisp if I keep it in only 1–2 minutes. Yours still sounds perfectly edible though!

Way too salty for my taste! I think I might skip the soy sauce next time. 🙁

      4 stars
I actually loved the saltiness! Maybe try using less soy sauce next time? It really enhances the flavor for me!

    2. 2 stars
Salty?? Seriously? Maybe you added too much? I thought it was just perfect. 😕

I’m skeptical about serving it chilled… beef stir-fries usually turn weird for me in the fridge. Still, I’ll give it a shot.

I’m not sure about the honey amount. It tastes almost like teriyaki candy? Still edible, just different from what I expected.

I totally agree! This recipe is a lifesaver for busy weeknights. Fast and super tasty!

  107. 4 stars
The instructions are clear, but I think 1 minute for garlic/ginger is a little short—mine needed like 2 to get really fragrant. Still tasty.

    1. 5 stars
Agree—1 minute felt fast to me too. I usually give garlic/ginger closer to 2 minutes on high so it actually smells fragrant before adding the beef.

  108. User avatar lori.emard13 says:

Way too much soy sauce for my taste, so next time I’ll cut it in half. Beef came out tender though, so I’ll adjust rather than skip.

    Looks easy and tasty!

    1. 5 stars
Agreed—sounds super easy, and I love that it can be served warm or chilled. The honey-sesame combo probably makes it really tasty!

  110. User avatar Slartibartfast says:

Not gonna lie, the cornstarch in the soy sauce felt weird, like it would turn into paste. But it actually helped the beef coat—still, I’d say rinse off extra marinade so it doesn’t clump.

  111. 2 stars
I don’t know… I followed the recipe, but it turned out kinda bland. Maybe too much soy sauce? 🤔

    1. User avatar elmer.bruen19 says:

      4 stars
I found the same thing! Maybe try adding some more spices next time or cutting back on the soy sauce. It can really overpower the other flavors! 😬

  112. 2 stars
Beef in a salad?? My brain says no, lol. But the instruction to serve warm or chilled makes sense. If the veggies stay crisp, I can’t hate it.

Made it for meal prep and it reheats nicely. The snow peas stay crisp, which is rare. Love the honey-sesame dressing.

    1. User avatar Death Hound says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I’ve tried a lot of stir-fries for meal prep and they usually turn mushy, so “crisp” snow peas is a win. The honey-sesame dressing sounds dangerously good.

I made this too and reheated it in the microwave—still crunchy. I added a little extra sesame oil at the end and it was even better.

This recipe is AMAZING! The beef is so tender and the flavors are perfect!

  116. User avatar abe.heller57 says:

Not sure about the cornstarch—usually I only use it for thickening sauces. Will it actually help the beef stay tender or just make it sticky?

  117. 5 stars
Super easy and fast. I’m not a great cook and it still came out flavorful. My kids liked it too (shocking, I know).

  118. User avatar renato.mohr7 says:

Could be better. The garlic was too strong for me, but I guess that’s just my taste. Not bad overall.

  119. 5 stars
This was surprisingly good—sweet-savory combo with the sesame oil is spot on. I served it chilled and it tasted even better the next day.

  120. User avatar merlin.kerluke55 says:

Honestly, the flavor profile here sounds amazing. Sesame oil + ginger always hits. I made something similar and it tasted way better than it looks on the plate.

  121. User avatar colby.cremin1988 says:

Pretty good, but I think 3-4 minutes for the beef is a little risky if your slices are thick. Mine got slightly tough, so next time I’ll slice thinner or reduce time.

  122. User avatar Sharell West says:

Not sure about 1 tbsp cornstarch for 1 lb beef—feels like it might get too thick. But I’ll test it because the method is solid.

    1. User avatar Liet-Kynes says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean—1 tbsp cornstarch for 1 lb can seem like a lot. But if you’re just looking for that light glossy coating (not a heavy sauce), it usually works out fine. Tossing and quick stir-frying helps it stay silky.

  123. 4 stars
Not bad, but I thought it needed more salt. I know it says ‘to taste’ but I ended up adding quite a bit at the end. Also cornstarch in the soy marinade made it kind of… sticky in a good way though.

  124. User avatar tanner.hintz says:

    3 stars
I like the idea, but I’m skeptical about the cornstarch/soy marinade—3-4 minutes might overcook thin flank steak and it could get a bit gummy. Still, I’d try it and watch the time closely.

    1. 4 stars
Totally get your skepticism. I’ve had cornstarch marinades go gummy when they sit too long or if the meat gets overcooked. But I think 3-4 minutes on high might work if the slices are really thin—like almost shaving-thin. I’d also pat off excess marinade or just stir-fry hard and fast.

    2. 5 stars
I do this kind of thing all the time and it doesn’t get gummy if you don’t overdo it. The cornstarch is more like a light coating so the beef stays juicy. I’d say try it once exactly as written, then adjust your timing based on thickness.
