Chocolate Cream Pie is the ultimate dessert for chocolate lovers, offering a rich, velvety chocolate filling nestled in a flaky, buttery pie crust. This decadent treat is made with a silky smooth chocolate custard topped with a generous layer of whipped cream, creating the perfect balance of creamy, airy, and crunchy textures. Whether served at a family gathering, a special occasion, or as a sweet end to a weeknight meal, this pie is sure to satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth.
The base of a Chocolate Cream Pie starts with a buttery pie crust, which can be homemade or store-bought. The crust is crisp and flaky, providing a perfect contrast to the rich, creamy filling. The filling is made with high-quality cocoa powder or melted chocolate, sugar, milk, and eggs. It’s cooked until thickened, then chilled to set, creating a luxurious, dense chocolate filling that practically melts in your mouth. The deep chocolate flavor is both comforting and indulgent, without being overwhelming.
What makes this pie extra special is the whipped cream topping. A generous layer of freshly whipped cream crowns the pie, adding a light, airy sweetness that balances the rich chocolate filling. For extra flair, you can garnish the pie with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or even a few chocolate curls for a touch of elegance.
Chocolate Cream Pie is easy to make but feels indulgent, which makes it perfect for any occasion. It’s also incredibly versatile, you can add flavors like vanilla or coffee to the filling for a unique twist or incorporate a dash of liqueur for an adult version. Some people even like to make an Oreo crust instead of a traditional pie crust for extra chocolatey goodness.
This pie can be made ahead of time, as it needs a few hours to chill in the fridge before serving, making it an ideal make-ahead dessert for parties or gatherings. The combination of rich chocolate and smooth, airy whipped cream creates a comforting dessert that is both luxurious and satisfying, offering the perfect sweet ending to any meal.

This is my grandma’s recipe! Brought back memories. Love it! ❤️
I found the recipe a bit confusing. Not sure if I did something wrong, but mine didn’t thicken. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re experienced.
Too much sugar for my taste. I like it more dark chocolate. Maybe I’ll try adjustin the sugar next time.
This pie is a hit! Rich and creamy, just like I love it! 🍫
I agree! This pie sounds so good! I’m definitely trying it soon. 😋
Are you sure it’s that creamy? I find many recipes claim that but they don’t match up. 🤔
Chocolate cream pie? Love it but why no fruit? Would be perfect with some berries!
Not impressed. Tasted kinda bland to me. Maybe add more cocoa?
Why do you need to let it chill for 4 hours? Can’t you eat it right away? Seems silly.
Letting it chill helps everything set properly! If you eat it right away, it might be too runny and not taste as good. Just my opinion!
4 hours? Who has that kind of time? I’d rather just dive in! 😂
Incredible pie! Used whole milk instead of just milk and it was soooo good.
Chocolate good. I like! Makes me happy. 🥳
Well, I was expecting more chocolate flavor. Disappointed.
Tried this recipe and burned the chocolate yikes! Not my day. 😅
Delicious! I added some mint extract for a twist and it was a hit at the party!
I followed the recipe but it didn’t thicken up for me. What did I do wrong?
Maybe you didn’t cook it long enough. It needs to boil to thicken properly.
Idk, sometimes these things just don’t work out. Did you measure everything right?
Absolutely love this pie! It’s my favorite dessert and this recipe is spot on! Can’t believe how simple it was to make!
It was okay, but I found it a bit too sweet for my taste.
This is not a real pie without ice cream! Who puts whipped cream only? Try adding some vanilla ice cream for a real treat!
Super easy to make! I skipped the whipped cream though, too sweet!
Why do we use egg yolks? I thought all you needed was chocolate and cream! 🤔
This pie turned out amazing! So rich and chocolatey. My family loved it!
I don’t bake much but this recipe was easy to follow. I was proud of myself!
This pie was a hit at our family gathering! So chocolatey and delicious. Will definitely make again. 😍
u need whipped cream on top. I forgot it lol. just chocolate pudding pie now.
