Meijer has issued a recall for certain packages of Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds sold in several states, including Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. The recall was prompted by the potential presence of undeclared dark chocolate-covered cashews, which could pose a serious risk to individuals with allergies or sensitivities to cashews.
The affected products include Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds in black stand-up pouches with sell-by dates of May 7, 2026, or May 28, 2026, as well as 8-count, 1.5-ounce multi-pack boxes with a sell-by date of May 5, 2026. The recall affects Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
So far, Meijer has not received any reports of illness related to the recall. The issue was identified after a customer reported the potential mix-up.
Customers who have purchased the affected products, especially those with allergies or severe sensitivities to cashews, are advised not to consume them. Instead, they should return the products to any Meijer store for a full refund.
