On June 2, Costco announced that Coca-Cola had recalled a specific batch of Topo Chico Mineral Water due to potential contamination.
The recall was initiated after routine quality checks by Coca-Cola, the distributor of Topo Chico, identified possible contamination with Pseudomonas aeruginosa—a type of bacteria commonly found in soil and water, including mineral sources. While the health risk is considered minimal for most healthy individuals, those with weakened immune systems could be at a higher risk of minor infections if exposed.
How to Identify Coca-Cola Recalled Product
The recall applies to 18-count packs of 16.9-ounce (500 mL) glass bottles of Topo Chico, marked as Costco item number 1439351. These products were sold at select Costco locations in Texas and Louisiana between May 20 and May 29, 2025.
Consumers can identify the recalled bottles by checking for lot code #13A2541, printed on the neck of the bottles and on the packaging cases.
No other Coca-Cola or Topo Chico products are included in this recall.

Coca-Cola and Costco are working closely with health authorities to ensure consumer safety and minimize any potential risk. Coca-Cola emphasized that this recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution, and no illnesses related to the affected batch have been reported to date. Customers are encouraged to check their purchases promptly and discontinue use of any bottles with the specified lot code.
