Creamy Beef and Broccoli Pasta

April 7, 2026

Rich, comforting, and quick to make, Creamy Beef and Broccoli Pasta combines tender strips of beef, crisp-tender broccoli, and al dente pasta in a silky, savory sauce. Start by seasoning thinly sliced sirloin or flank steak with salt, pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder. Sear the beef in a hot skillet with a little oil until browned but still slightly pink; remove and set aside. In the same pan, sauté minced garlic and shallot until fragrant, then deglaze with a splash of white wine or beef broth, scraping up the browned bits.

Meanwhile, boil your favourite pasta like penne, fusilli, or farfalle work well, until just shy of al dente. Add broccoli florets to the pasta pot during the final three minutes so they finish crisp-tender. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and broccoli.

Return the skillet to medium heat and pour in heavy cream and a dollop of sour cream or cream cheese for extra silkiness. Stir in Dijon mustard and grated Parmesan until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, loosen with reserved pasta water until it coats the back of a spoon. Return the beef, pasta, and broccoli to the pan, tossing gently to combine and warm through. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon to brighten the flavors.

Serve immediately topped with extra Parmesan, chopped parsley, and a drizzle of good olive oil. This dish is ideal for busy weeknights but elegant enough for guests. Variations: swap beef for shredded chicken, add fresh mushrooms or red pepper flakes, or stir in a splash of soy sauce for umami. Leftovers reheat well in a skillet with a splash of cream or broth. Enjoy a hearty, family-friendly meal that balances savory, creamy, and fresh notes in every bite.
