Oreo Cookie Balls are the kind of treat that disappears almost as quickly as you make them. With only three main ingredients and no baking involved, they are the perfect go-to dessert when you want something quick, delicious, and crowd-pleasing. These bite-sized delights are rich, creamy, and packed with that classic cookies-and-cream flavor everyone loves.
To make them, you start with crushed Oreo cookies. The entire cookie, filling and all, gets pulsed into fine crumbs and then mixed with softened cream cheese. The result is a smooth, truffle-like dough that holds together easily. Once rolled into small balls, the mixture is chilled to firm up before getting dipped in melted chocolate.
The chocolate coating adds a smooth shell that contrasts beautifully with the soft and creamy center. You can use milk chocolate for a classic finish, white chocolate for a sweeter twist, or even dark chocolate if you want to cut the sweetness slightly. While the chocolate is still wet, you can sprinkle extra Oreo crumbs, colorful sprinkles, or a drizzle of white or dark chocolate over the top for decoration.
These cookie balls are great for parties, potlucks, or holidays. They look elegant on a dessert tray but are so simple to make that they are ideal for beginners. Plus, the recipe can be customized in endless ways. Try using different flavors of Oreos, like mint or birthday cake, or add a drop of peppermint or vanilla extract for a unique flavor.
Best of all, Oreo Cookie Balls can be made in advance. Store them in the fridge for several days or freeze them if you’re prepping for a big event. They hold their shape well and still taste amazing even after being chilled.
Whether you’re making them for a celebration or just for yourself, Oreo Cookie Balls are a fun, easy treat that always hits the spot.
This recipe is made by Juanita Hutson.

Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 package Oreo cookies (your choice of flavor)
Instructions
- Soften the cream cheese by leaving it at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until it's easily spreadable.
- Place the Oreo cookies in a large ziplock bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin, or pulse them in a food processor until finely ground.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies with the softened cream cheese. Mix well until the mixture is evenly combined.
- Take spoonfuls of the mixture and roll them into balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
- Place the Oreo balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 1 hour, or until they are firm.
- Enjoy the Oreo cream cheese balls straight from the fridge. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Awesome
I didn’t have Oreos but used generic cookies instead and they were still good. So versatile!
I feel like they don’t taste like real cookies… they are kinda weird, y’know?
My kids loved them! We make these every week now. Thanks for the recipe!
Do I have to use Oreo? Can’t I use any cookie? Asking for a friend.
I don’t think it will taste the same. Oreos are special, you know? 😕
You can definitely use any cookie! Just keep in mind the taste might change. 🍪
I don’t know. The cream cheese makes them too soft maybe? Might try with less next time.
Tried making these with peanut butter Oreos, and they turned out a bit mushy… not sure what I did wrong.
I don’t know, they seem a bit too sweet for my taste. Maybe less cream cheese?
Quick and delicious! 1010 would recommend to a friend.
So glad you loved it! They’re a hit at parties too!
I don’t know, cream cheese with Oreos? Kinda sounds weird to me. How can it be 1010?
Cookie balls? More like cookie GLOBS! Way too sweet for me, couldn’t finish one.
Great for parties! I made these and they disappeared in minutes! 🥳
Followed the recipe but they came out too mushy. What did I do wrong? 😩
So delicious! Perfect for parties, everyone gobbled them up! 🤤
I tried making these with peanut butter Oreos and they were a disaster. The mix was too dry. Maybe I did something wrong?
I think the peanut butter flavor might’ve made the mixture too thick. You could try adding a bit of milk next time to moisten it up! 💡
Nah, I think the recipe just ain’t that good. It doesn’t seem simple. How can cream cheese and Oreos be dry??
Cookies plus cream cheese? That sounds funky. I don’t know if I will try this. Maybe stick to regular cookies.
Not sure about cream cheese… Sounds kinda weird for cookies. I’m sticking with my chocolate chip.
I actually tried it, and it was amazing! You should give it a shot; it’s not funky at all!
Instructions are too long. Can’t you just say mix and roll? 🤷♂️
Yeah, but those details help if you mess up. You don’t want mushy cookie balls! 😂
I actually found the steps really helpful! It’s not just mix and roll, there’s a technique to it. 🍪
I added some peanut butter, and it was bomb! Seriously give that a try!
I think it needs more chocolate. Maybe chocolate drizzle on top? Just saying.
I dunno, I think they’re sweet enough as is. Too much chocolate might ruin it.
I totally agree! A chocolate drizzle would make these even better! 🍫
Yum! Making these for my daughter’s birthday party. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
These cookie balls are AMAZING! Super easy and everyone loves them!
Too sweet for me. I think less cream cheese would make it better!
I only had double stuffed Oreos and had to use that. Still turned out amazing!
I found this recipe really simple but my mixture was too sticky. Did I mess something up?
Maybe you just need to add more crushed cookies? Sometimes the cream cheese can be too soft if it’s not cold enough.
Ew, carrot cake Oreos? No thanks. Stick with regular Oreos, people!
I totally disagree! Carrot cake Oreos are amazing! Give them a shot. You might be surprised!
People like what they like. You don’t have to be rude. Some of us enjoy a little variety every now and then.
Easy recipe but I prefer regular cookies over these. Not for me.
Yummy! But I think next time I’ll add some sprinkles on top!
These cookie balls are amazing! So easy to make and everyone loved them. Five stars all the way!
These are sooo good! Made them for a party and they disappeared in minutes!
I’m so glad to hear!!! They are always a hit at my gatherings too! 😄
Pure heaven! 🍪❤️
They look nice but I ain’t got cream cheese. Can I use yogurt instead?
These are super easy to make! My kids loved them!
Tried making these once, but my kids found it too sweet! Maybe I missed something?
I’m so glad your kids loved them! They’re definitely a hit at parties too.
Just made these and my husband can’t stop eating them! Will make again for sure.
So easy to make! But I ate them all before I even finished chilling them lol!
Simple and delicious! I didn’t even wait for them to chill for an hour, I ate them right away! Yum!
N0 reviewed? I loved it but accidentally left them out for too long and they became kinda soft.
Glad you loved them! Softness can happen if they’re out too long. Try putting them in the fridge for a bit next time!
These cookie balls are so easy to make and taste amazing! Definitely a 5-star dessert!
I dunno, I think they might be too sweet. Oreos and cream cheese? That’s a lot of sweetness. How about some salt?
I tried making these and they turned out great! Super easy and delicious. Thanks for sharing!
Good recipe but my kids said it taste like cheese. Next time I’ll add more sugar or something! Suggestions?
Maybe try a lil bit of vanilla extract? That could balance the flavors! My kids usually love sweet stuff too.
More sugar sounds good, but maybe it’s the cream cheese that’s making it taste cheesy? I dunno, but I like cheese! 😂
Yummy!!
I don’t know, cream cheese with Oreos? That sounds weird to me…
So good! Can’t wait to try these! 😍
OMG these are a hit in my house! Even my picky kids loved them! 🙌
Yay! I’m so glad your kids loved them! They really are super easy and delicious! 🎉
Not sure why everyone loves them, I found them a bit bland. 😕 Maybe my taste is off?
Nah, you ain’t wrong. Some people just love sweet stuff too much. I prefer a savory snack anyway! 🍕
Hey, I totally get you! Sometimes, the flavor of these things can hit differently for people. Maybe add a pinch of salt or some vanilla extract next time to kick it up a notch! 😊
Yummy but I thought it would be crunchyer! It was kinda mushy.
