Is this recipe really from the country? I expected something totally different.

  2. 5 stars
Cooked it for my family and they loved it! I added some corn for extra sweetness. 10/10!

    Soup time! 🥣

  4. User avatar towanda.mclaughlin59 says:

The potatoes took way longer than 15 minutes for me (diced bigger, my bad). Otherwise the texture was nice and the peas didn’t get mushy.

    1. User avatar shay.kuhn says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—15 minutes is pretty optimistic for diced potatoes. Glad the texture and the peas turned out great though!

  5. User avatar Reagan Kuhn says:

    3 stars
It was okay, but I think it needed more spices. Like, where’s the kick? Just a bit bland for me.

    1. User avatar bernard.marvin2021 says:

      5 stars
I agree! I added some cayenne pepper and wow, what a difference! Needs that extra kick for sure.

  6. 5 stars
Loved it! The potatoes made it super filling. Will make again for sure.

  7. User avatar darell.cole81 says:

    2 stars
Looks good, but where is the corn? I like corn in my soup.

  8. 4 stars
Pretty solid recipe, though I think 20 minutes simmering might not be enough if the chicken is thick. I ended up simmering a bit longer and it tasted better.

    1. User avatar Frostbite Spider says:

      5 stars
I agree—20 minutes can be a bit optimistic for thicker chicken breasts. I’m glad you extended the simmer; it really does make the flavor sink in.

This soup is amazing! My family loved it. So comforting and tasty.

    1. User avatar kelley.koepp says:

So glad to hear that! It’s definitely a family favorite in my house too. What did you serve it with?

    2. User avatar Knights of Hyrule says:

      3 stars
It was okay, but I thought it needed more seasoning. Maybe next time I’ll add some chili powder.

  10. User avatar russ.dietrich89 says:

This soup is amazing! So comforting and delicious. My family loved it!

  11. User avatar dillon.hartmann69 says:

    2 stars
I tried it, but it turned out way too salty for my taste. Maybe lessen the salt next time.

  12. User avatar karla.bruen64 says:

    2 stars
This soup is too watery for my taste. Should I add more veggies?

  13. User avatar ArabianNights says:

    4 stars
Easy to make, but I think I put too much thyme in. Next time I’ll just use half. 😅

  14. 5 stars
This soup is amazing! So comforting and delicious. My family loved it!

  15. User avatar rayford.barton says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid, but 5 min per side on the chicken was a bit much for my stove. I’d watch it and go by color next time.

  16. 2 stars
Not what I expected. It was kind of bland…maybe I missed something?

  17. 2 stars
I dunno about this one. My chicken was tough, maybe I didn’t cook it right? Not sure I’ll try again.

  18. User avatar Draugr Overlord says:

    5 stars
This is a hearty soup! Made it for my fam and they loved it. Perfect for chilly nights.

  19. 3 stars
I followed it exactly, but my soup was a little bland. Next time I’ll add a touch more pepper or maybe a splash of lemon at the end. Still good though!

    1. User avatar kennith.wintheiser2010 says:

      4 stars
If it was bland after following it exactly, I’d still bump the pepper and salt slightly (or taste the broth before adding). Could also be your chicken broth being low-sodium.

    2. User avatar rolland.windler75 says:

      5 stars
That sounds like a seasoning-only fix. Lemon at the end is such a good idea—brightens everything up without changing the base flavor too much.

  20. User avatar german.johnson62 says:

    1 star
Horrible! My kids refused to eat it. Never again.

  21. User avatar latasha.champlin says:

    2 stars
I forgot the thyme and added way too much salt… yikes! 😅

  22. 5 stars
This is such a comforting bowl. I used rotisserie chicken on day 2 and it still tasted homemade. The thyme/rosemary combo is perfect.

    1. User avatar lavon.pollich says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this thyme/rosemary combo makes it taste so warm and “from scratch.” Rotisserie chicken is such a win.

  23. User avatar prudence.leuschke says:

    2 stars
My kids refused to eat it. They said it looked funny. Kids these days!

  24. User avatar sergio.wuckert79 says:

Wasn’t a fan of the parsley on top! How does that even make it different? 🤔

  25. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but it turned out kinda bland. Maybe I forgot something.

  26. User avatar cornell.gleason93 says:

    3 stars
My grandma used to make a better version! This one is just okay.

  27. User avatar cedric.baumbach1962 says:

This soup is amazing! So hearty and delicious. My family loved it!

    1. User avatar Gurney Halleck says:

      3 stars
Looks good but not everyone likes soup all that much. Some prefer solid food, you know?

    2. User avatar darius.hartmann4 says:

      5 stars
I’m so glad to hear that! It’s one of my favorites too. The chicken makes it so filling!

  28. User avatar lawrence.morissette2014 says:

Country chicken soup is the best way to fight colds! Been making this for years!

  29. User avatar precious.effertz71 says:

    2 stars
I followed it exactly and it came out bland. Maybe my salt was off? Could use more pepper or herbs for sure.

  30. User avatar elmo.frami says:

    4 stars
I couldn’t figure out how to shred chicken. I just diced it instead. Still turned out tasty!

  31. User avatar ronnie.hegmann45 says:

    5 stars
This came out so cozy! I used leftover rotisserie chicken instead of breasts and still followed the steps—turned out great. The herb combo with thyme + rosemary is super comforting.

  32. User avatar wellRespected says:

    5 stars
Soooo delicious! I can taste the love in this soup! 😂❤️

  33. User avatar tammera.schaden25 says:

    4 stars
So good! I added some corn and it turned out great. Will make again for sure!

  34. 3 stars
How do you get the chicken so tender? Mine fell apart like mush! 🤨

    1. 4 stars
I think you might have cooked it too long! You gotta shred it right after you take it out, not leave it simmering in the pot. That helps keep it juicy! 👍

  35. User avatar bill.wuckert says:

    4 stars
Really easy to make! I didn’t have all the ingredients so used what I had. Still turned out great!

    1. User avatar ma.zulauf22 says:

      5 stars
I’m glad it turned out good! Cooking is all about improvisation sometimes. 😊

  36. User avatar MAGA2024.Trumpster says:

    5 stars
Yummy soup! Could eat this every week! Just like mom used to make 🥰

  37. 4 stars
I added more spices, it’s better that way! But the recipe is good. Just needs a kick.

    1. User avatar ira.keeling52 says:

      5 stars
Adding spices is always a good idea! I usually throw in some cayenne pepper for a real kick.

    2. 2 stars
You sure it’s better? I think the recipe is fine as it is. Spices can ruin a good soup sometimes.

  38. 4 stars
Is there a reason you use dried thyme instead of fresh? I think fresh would be better.

    1. User avatar wm.hartmann1984 says:

      4 stars
I think dried thyme gives a stronger flavor over the long cook time. Fresh can get lost, you know?

    2. User avatar tyron.farrell1990 says:

      5 stars
Fresh is def better! I always use fresh herbs when I can. Makes everything tastier!

  39. User avatar Sherice Mills says:

    5 stars
Great! Also I accidentally shredded the chicken too early and it fell apart more… but honestly it made it better and the texture was nicer.

    1. User avatar alvaro.dach96 says:

      5 stars
That actually sounds like a win—shredding earlier can make the chicken soak up more flavor and get a better bite. I’m trying this next time!

  40. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

    2 stars
Too many veggies for my taste. Next time, I’m cutting back on the carrots.

    1. User avatar carmel.fisher63 says:

      4 stars
Yeah, there are a lot of veggies! But you could always try reducing them or swapping for ones you like more. Hope it turns out better next time!

  41. 5 stars
Easy to make! This soup good for my soup-er hungry husband. 👌

  42. 2 stars
Is it really healthy? I mean chicken broth has like a lot of sodium, right?

  43. 5 stars
Yum! But can I use beef instead? My husband prefers beef soup!

    1. User avatar boris.goldner76 says:

      4 stars
I think that would taste good! Just swap the chicken for beef and maybe add some more spices?

    2. User avatar danyelle.goyette84 says:

      2 stars
Nah, it’s a chicken soup. Beef won’t work right. Just make a beef stew instead!

  44. 3 stars
I followed the recipe but it turned out kinda bland…maybe I shoulda added more spices?

  45. User avatar zulma.green0 says:

    3 stars
How come there’s no mention of cooking time for chicken? Didn’t turn out as expected. Disappointed!

  46. 5 stars
Yum! Made this for dinner and my kids loved it. Will definitely make again!

  47. User avatar sylvester.weimann41 says:

    2 stars
5 minutes per side for chicken breasts then simmering—mine got kinda dry. Maybe next time I’ll poach it in the broth instead of browning first.

  48. User avatar garfield.gleichner says:

    1 star
Humm I don’t know… seems like too many ingredients. Can’t we just boil the chicken and call it soup?

  49. 2 stars
Way too much rosemary for me. It overpowered everything and made it taste like an herb roast instead of soup.

  50. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    4 stars
I used vegetable broth instead of chicken and it was still yum! Good recipe!

  51. User avatar miguel.hickle64 says:

    4 stars
Didn’t have thyme so I used basil instead, it was still good. Y’all should give it a go.

    1. User avatar rupert.mann says:

      4 stars
I’ve always thought basil and thyme are pretty different! But if it worked for you, that’s awesome! Maybe I’ll try it if I run out of thyme too.

    2. User avatar lindsay.bartoletti5 says:

      5 stars
LOL I just used whatever herbs I had just like you. Soup was still good. Who needs exact recipes anyway?

  52. User avatar dorcas.boyle91 says:

    4 stars
I replaced the chicken with tofu and it was still good! Not traditional, but I’m vegan!

    1. User avatar Piter De Vries says:

      4 stars
That’s awesome! I’ve never tried tofu in soup. I might give it a go. 🌱

  53. 1 star
Does this really need garlic? My grandma never used it in her chicken soup.

    1. 4 stars
Garlic adds a nice flavor, but if your grandma didn’t use it, go for it without! It’s all about what you like!

    2. User avatar lorraine.ward8 says:

      5 stars
I think garlic is essential! Makes it more flavorful. Your grandma might have had her reasons, but I would definitely add it.

  54. User avatar anibal.adams says:

    4 stars
I forgot the peas 😱 but it was still good. Next time will remember!

    1. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

      4 stars
No peas? That’s okay! Sometimes mistakes lead to the best meals. Glad it still turned out good!

    2. 3 stars
How do you forget the peas? 😂 But hey, if it was still tasty, maybe they aren’t that important!

  55. 3 stars
Too many steps 😩 I just want a quick meal. Maybe I’ll try it when I have more time.

    1. User avatar Ms. Rufus Mante says:

      4 stars
I get it! Sometimes you just want something easy. This soup does take time, but it’s worth it! Maybe prep the veggies the night before? 😊

  56. User avatar sammy.smitham says:

    5 stars
First time making chicken soup and it was a hit! My whole family loved it.

  57. User avatar Neoma Schmeler says:

    3 stars
I like the steps, very clear. Only thing: I don’t have a bay leaf so I skipped it—turned out okay, but the soup smelled missing something.

  58. 3 stars
Chicken soup is chicken soup. Whatever. Not my favorite.

  59. User avatar donny.bauch1999 says:

    5 stars
Yum! Just made this for dinner and it was a hit! Will def make again.

  60. User avatar mozelle.breitenberg45 says:

I followed the recipe but it turned out bland. Needs more spices for sure.

      2 stars
You must’ve missed the spices or something… I thought it was great.

    2. User avatar brent.marquardt34 says:

      4 stars
I agree! I added some chili flakes and paprika to mine, made a big difference!

  61. 3 stars
This is the same as chicken noodle soup, right? Just without the noodles? Not very unique…

  62. User avatar francesco.kreiger says:

    1 star
Excuse me but chicken is bad for the environment. Try making it with lentils instead!

  63. User avatar rosa.pacocha2025 says:

    Soup’s up! Love it! 😍

  64. User avatar jonas.waelchi71 says:

Not gonna lie, it feels like chicken soup 101. Still, sometimes you want simple and this hits the spot.

    1. User avatar joshua.kuhlman91 says:

      5 stars
Exactly—sometimes “chicken soup 101” is what you need. The thyme/rosemary combo sounds like it makes it more comforting than bland.

  65. User avatar lyndsay.quitzon2017 says:

    4 stars
Perfect for winter! But where’s the dumplings? 😜

  66. User avatar steve_maga says:

    2 stars
This recipe is too complicated for me. I just wanna cook quickly.

  67. 5 stars
This soup reminds me of my grandma’s cooking! So hearty and delicious! Definitely making it again!

  68. 3 stars
Not bad, but I forgot the peas and didn’t even notice. Guess they’re not necessary.

    1. User avatar ossie.grant says:

      4 stars
I think peas are a must in soup! They add a nice texture and flavor. Maybe next time try them? 🤔

    2. User avatar laurena.schuster says:

      5 stars
Soup is good even without peas! Plus, more room for chicken! 😋

  69. User avatar mathWizard says:
