Christmas M&Ms Brownies

December 17, 2024

Christmas M&Ms brownies are a fun, festive treat that combine the rich, fudgy texture of brownies with the colorful crunch of M&Ms, making them the perfect holiday dessert. These brownies are not only easy to make but also a surefire crowd-pleaser, with their vibrant red and green M&Ms adding a touch of holiday cheer to every bite. Whether you’re preparing them for a family gathering, holiday party, or simply craving something sweet, these brownies are sure to become a seasonal favorite.

The base of these brownies is made from a simple yet delicious chocolate batter. Melted chocolate and butter create a rich, dense foundation for the brownies, while eggs and sugar add sweetness and structure. What makes them truly special is the addition of M&Ms, which bring a pop of color and sweetness to the brownies, while their candy coating adds a slight crunch that contrasts beautifully with the soft, gooey interior.

The beauty of these Christmas brownies is in their simplicity. Once baked, the brownies are soft, fudgy, and packed with the delicious flavor of chocolate. The M&Ms, scattered throughout the batter, melt slightly during baking but retain their vibrant colors and slight crunch, providing little bursts of sweetness with every bite. For an extra festive touch, you can press additional M&Ms into the top of the brownies just before baking, creating a more decorative, colorful look.

Christmas M&Ms brownies are incredibly versatile and can be customized to suit your taste. You can add a swirl of white chocolate, sprinkle some crushed candy canes on top for a minty twist, or even drizzle melted chocolate over the brownies once they’ve cooled for an extra decadent touch.

Perfect for holiday baking, these Christmas M&Ms brownies are a fun, easy dessert that adds a festive touch to your celebrations. The combination of fudgy chocolate, crunchy M&Ms, and holiday spirit makes them a sweet treat that will delight everyone, young and old alike.

I followed the recipe but my brownies ended up really dry. Maybe my oven is too hot? I don’t know but I was disappointed. 🙁

Maybe you put in too much flour? It can happen! Just follow the measurements precisely. And yeah, ovens can be tricky sometimes! Good luck next time!

I think your oven might be the issue, but you could also try reducing the baking time a bit. Brownies should be fudgy, not dry! Don’t lose hope; you can nail it next time! 😊

These brownies are the best! Super fudgy and that chocolatey goodness is to die for. My whole family loved them, especially the kids with the M&Ms!

I think these brownies would be good with nuts too. Just saying! Don’t hate me, but the M&Ms seem unnecessary. Just stick with plain chocolate!

These brownies were a hit at our Christmas party! So rich and chocolaty. 5 stars!

11/10, would recommend to a friend. Brownies and M&Ms, what’s not to love?

    1. User avatar Duncan Idaho says:

      2 stars
Really? I thought brownies are better without extra stuff like M&Ms. Just saying.

Absolutely! The combination is divine. I’ve made these twice already this month!

  6. 5 stars
This was my first time making brownies from scratch and it was a success!!! I am so proud of myself! 🎂

  7. 3 stars
I tried these and they were a bit too sweet for me. The M&Ms are just too much. 3 stars.

  8. User avatar ShanksOnePiece says:

Too hard and crumbly. Not what I expected. Anyone else having issues with the consistency? 🙁

    1. 4 stars
I had the same problem! Mine turned out super dry too. I think maybe I baked them too long? Not sure what I did wrong.

    2. User avatar Miss Reta Becker says:

      3 stars
Hmm, mine were fine. Maybe try adding a bit more butter next time? Or less flour? Just a thought! 😅

  9. 5 stars
I’m not gonna lie, I thought the M&Ms would get weird after baking. They stayed colorful and added little pockets of sweetness. Pretty fun dessert.

    1. User avatar rolland.abernathy says:

      4 stars
Mine didn’t stay as colorful… I think I overbaked or my oven runs hot. Still tasted good though—next time I’ll pull it at like 25 min and cool longer. Merry Christmas brownies 😅

    2. User avatar newton.metz10 says:

I had the same worry about the M&Ms melting and turning nasty, but honestly they look so cute in there. Love that they kept their color and gave little sweet bursts!

I followed the recipe exactly and it was too sweet for my taste. Maybe less sugar next time?

  11. 3 stars
Just okay. I think I expected too much. They were decent but not wow.

  12. User avatar alissa.stroman says:

I thought brownies had to be baked? My grandma says she always microwaves them.

    1. User avatar Frost Atronach says:

      2 stars
I don’t think that’s right… Brownies are supposed to be baked in the oven, right? Microwaving them sounds weird.

    2. User avatar hermina.ankunding6 says:

      4 stars
Your grandma is onto something! Microwaving can work too, but there’s just something about the oven that gives the best texture. 😋

  13. User avatar zaida.rice33 says:

    4 stars
These taste amazing but I accidentally put an extra egg in. I think it made them more fudgy. Still good.

  14. 2 stars
Not impressed. My brownies came out too gooey, I don’t know what I did wrong. 2 stars.

    1. User avatar linn.wolff says:

      4 stars
I’m sorry to hear that! Sometimes the oven temperature can be off, or maybe they needed a bit longer to bake. Don’t give up! Try again.

    2. User avatar almeda.predovic22 says:

      5 stars
Gooey? Sounds delicious to me! Maybe it’s just how brownies should be. I would totally eat those!

  15. 2 stars
Mine didn’t turn out like the pic! They came out flat. What did I do wrong?

  16. User avatar karol.rohan1994 says:

    3 stars
Mine took closer to 35 minutes and I almost overbaked, but they were still tasty. Next time I’ll check earlier because ovens vary a lot.

    1. User avatar lamont.bartell54 says:

      3 stars
35 minutes?! Mine were done at like 28 and they were super fudgy. Maybe your oven temp is off or you used a glass pan? Either way they sound good, I’m just confused why it needed so long.

    2. User avatar elmo.ortiz1966 says:

      5 stars
Good call on checking early—my oven runs hot too. I usually start watching around 22–24 minutes so they don’t dry out. These really are hard to overbake though with all the M&Ms!

  17. 4 stars
So easy to make but I used milk chocolate M&Ms by accident and now I can’t stop eating them!

    1. User avatar Brand-shei says:

      5 stars
Milk chocolate M&Ms sound amazing! Honestly, I think I’d love it more that way. Can’t wait to try it!

  18. 5 stars
These brownies are a hit at every Christmas party! So rich and chocolatey!

  19. 5 stars
Love them! Tried it with walnuts too! Delicious! 🎉

I followed the recipe but mine came out super dry. Maybe I baked them too long? 🤔

Simple and quick, but I accidentally burnt mine. Sad face.

    1. User avatar chu.johnston88 says:

      2 stars
Burnt? How could you do that?! It’s not that hard, just watch the oven!

    2. 4 stars
Aw, that’s too bad! Maybe next time try cutting down the baking time a bit?

  22. 5 stars
Brownies for Christmas? Genius! Can’t wait to bake them again next year. Loved the colors!

  23. 4 stars
I ain’t never used cocoa powder before. Do I really need it? Just asking!

  24. 1 star
Baking is way too complicated. Why do we need sifted flour? Can’t just dump it in?

    1. User avatar aide.pacocha51 says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean, but sifting helps make the flour lighter and removes clumps. It can make a big difference in the texture! Give it a try!

  25. User avatar shawana.boyle says:

These brownies are amazing! My kids loved them.

  26. User avatar wellRespected says:

The batter smells amazing while baking. Mine cracked on top but that’s kind of pretty, honestly. Would make again for holiday parties.

    1. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

      4 stars
Mine cracked too but I thought I overbaked it—maybe not? I used cold eggs once and it got weird. These are still dangerously good though. Would make again.

    2. User avatar thu.bode65 says:

      5 stars
That crackled top is exactly what I love about brownies 😄 I’m glad it still turned out pretty and yummy for your holiday parties!

  27. User avatar darin.lesch28 says:

    5 stars
Just made these tonight and they were GONE in minutes! Yum!

    1. 3 stars
I made them too, but my kids didn’t like the green M&Ms. Weird, right? Still taste good tho!

    2. User avatar Stacy Glover says:

    Brownies + Christmas M&Ms = holiday winner 🎉

  29. User avatar hilario.armstrong44 says:

Ingredients are fine but I don’t like cocoa. They were okay but I won’t make again.

    1. User avatar wilbert.cummerata59 says:

      3 stars
Not everyone likes chocolate, that’s fine! Anyway, brownies need cocoa, it’s like a rule, lol.

    2. User avatar gregory.schmitt says:

      4 stars
You could try using a different flavor like vanilla or almond extract instead of cocoa. Maybe that would work better for you!

  30. User avatar oscar.mcdermott51 says:

These brownies are so festive! We made them for our Christmas party and they disappeared in minutes. Yummy!
