1/2 teaspoon pepper is too much for me. I think next time I’ll do less and add salt gradually. Otherwise, super comforting.

  2. User avatar felix.legros39 says:

    4 stars
Honestly, I thought it would be bland, but it’s surprisingly flavorful! I think the butter makes a big difference.

    1. 5 stars
Glad to hear it turned out flavorful! That butter really does make a difference. 😋

  3. User avatar thanh.hilpert says:

I don’t have an immersion blender so I blended in batches. Worked, but the kitchen was a mess lol. Tastes great, just needs patience.

    1. User avatar marget.spencer2016 says:

      3 stars
Wait… you blended it without an immersion blender and it worked? I feel like it’d be too chunky. Also “heavy cream optional” got me—can I just use milk? (I’m outta cream.)

    2. User avatar dwight.schaefer says:

      5 stars
I’ve done the “blending in batches” thing too—yeah, it’s messy but it still comes out smooth. Patience is the real ingredient 😂 Tastes amazing though!

  4. User avatar domingo.price45 says:

Made this last night—so cozy. The carrot flavor is sweet but not overpowering, and the immersion blender tip saved me a ton of mess. I used a little extra black pepper and it was perfect.

    1. User avatar taina.kessler says:

      3 stars
Honestly I don’t get the “carrot flavor sweet” thing—mine always turns out kinda bland unless I add garlic. But hey, if it worked for you, I’m glad!

    2. 5 stars
Love hearing this! The immersion blender trick really is a game-changer—no splatter chaos. Glad the extra black pepper hit just right 😄

  5. User avatar Draugr Death Overlord says:

    4 stars
Quick and simple, thanks! I used chicken broth instead and it turned out fine.

  6. User avatar sharen.kilback2007 says:

    meh.

    1. 3 stars
Haha fair—“meh” is valid. I will say the immersion blending step makes a big difference though.

    2. 4 stars
Did you add the cream? Without it can taste kinda flat… I’m not even sure why ppl skip that. 😅

  7. User avatar dewitt.cummings says:

    2 stars
I don’t understand why you’d put cream in soup. Isn’t that unhealthy? Spent all that time cooking for what? Just eat the carrots.

    1. User avatar Arthur Philip Deodat says:

      3 stars
But cream makes it yummy! Why don’t you just try it? Not everything has to be healthy all the time.

    2. User avatar byron.schmidt28 says:

      4 stars
Actually, adding cream can make the soup richer and tastier! Plus, a little indulgence is okay sometimes. Your body needs fats too, ya know?

  8. User avatar San Shenlong says:

    4 stars
Tasty!! I used coconut milk instead of heavy cream. It was awesome!

  9. User avatar breana.casper2013 says:

Not gonna lie, I thought carrot soup would taste like baby food. But the texture was smooth and it’s actually really nice. Would eat again.

  10. 5 stars
Made this tonight—so cozy and sweet! The immersion blender made it super smooth, and the onion + butter combo is perfect. I added extra pepper and it was still balanced.

    1. 5 stars
Yum—this sounds exactly like the kind of cozy soup I want after a long day. I love that the immersion blender makes it so smooth!

  11. User avatar saul.fisher41 says:

    2 stars
Not sure about the butter-to-broth ratio… mine tasted heavy, like oily. Also my carrots weren’t tender after 20 min, so I simmered longer. Maybe my pot runs hot.

  12. 5 stars
Yum! First time making soup. Easy peasy! Will tell my frens! 🥕✨

  13. User avatar wonda.bergnaum2012 says:

    2. User avatar hortensia.hirthe72 says:

I tried this soup last night! It’s definitely a new favorite! But I skipped the cream and it was still great. 🌈

  14. User avatar Gil T. Azell says:

Yum! My grandma always made carrot soup and this tastes just like hers! Brings back great memories.

    1. User avatar w00d_ch0p says:

      5 stars
So glad it brings back memories! Nothing like a good family recipe. 😊

    2. User avatar Frank N. Sense says:

      3 stars
This soup was alright, but I feel like it needs more spices or something. Was kinda bland for me.

  15. User avatar ernesto.jakubowski28 says:

    2 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but it was kinda bland for me. Maybe my carrots weren’t very sweet. Could use more salt/pepper or maybe a splash of lemon at the end?

  16. User avatar efrain.leffler says:

    2 stars
I don’t get why people make carrot soup. Just not my thing.

  17. 4 stars
Super easy recipe! I made it in under 30 minutes. My kids loved it! Will definitely make again.

  18. User avatar james.reichert2019 says:

    1 star
Nah, didn’t work for me. Too bland! Even added garlic and still missed the mark.

    1. 3 stars
Bland? Really? I loved it! It’s a soup, not a curry, folks! More garlic won’t save every dish.

    2. User avatar christiana.parker30 says:

      4 stars
I thought it was great! Maybe try more seasoning or some herbs? Personal taste varies, you know.

  19. User avatar cherlyn.roberts2016 says:

    3 stars
This is fine, but it needed something. I added a pinch of cumin and a squeeze of lemon and it went from “meh” to “okay I get it.”

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—cumin + lemon is such a nice “lift.” I bet it brings out the sweetness of the carrots. Love when it goes from meh to actually satisfying.

  20. User avatar javier.hansen says:

    5 stars
Soo gooood, I’m eating it right now! Perfect for cold days.

  21. User avatar allison.grant63 says:

    3 stars
This is decent, but the cream is kind of necessary for me. Without it, the flavor feels kinda flat. Add salt gradually!

  22. User avatar adam.friesen28 says:

    5 stars
Yum! My kids even ate it, and they are picky! Thanks for the recipe!

  23. User avatar Devon Schimmel says:

    3 stars
This is just carrot and broth… I’m not convinced it’s gourmet or anything.

  24. User avatar ernest.ritchie68 says:

    4 stars
I’m not usually a soup person but this was surprisingly good. However I accidentally used too much salt at the end—my bad. Still salvaged it with extra broth.

    1. 5 stars
This is exactly how I do it too—carrot soup got me surprised as well. Extra broth is such a smart fix for the salt!

  25. User avatar ayana.oreilly69 says:

    3 stars
Yummy 😋 But maybe too much onion for my taste. Next time, I’ll skip that. Just my opinion!

    1. User avatar julio.larson says:

      3 stars
Onions are good for you tho, they have vitamins. But yeah, too much can mess it up for sure.

    2. User avatar Spriggan Matron says:

      4 stars
I actually like the onions! They add a nice flavor. But I guess everyone has their own taste buds! 😊

  26. 4 stars
I didn’t have vegetable broth, so I used chicken broth instead. Still turned out good. 😉

  27. User avatar brendon.champlin1985 says:

    3 stars
Salt “to taste” is always tricky. I used 1 tsp like it says and it was okay, but next time I’ll go lighter because my broth already had some sodium.

    1. User avatar Piter De Vries says:

      5 stars
Yeah, “to taste” is always a gamble 😅 I usually start with 1/2 tsp and then adjust at the very end—especially if the broth isn’t truly low-sodium.

  28. User avatar Slartibartfast says:

    5 stars
The cream was a game changer! I added some garlic too and it was so good.

  29. 3 stars
Quick easy recipe! But it turned out too sweet, like I added sugar or something. Maybe my carrots were extra sweet?

    1. User avatar alise.rowe85 says:

      4 stars
I had the same issue! Maybe try less carrot next time or add more broth to balance it out. But I’m glad it was easy!

  30. User avatar chad.fay1992 says:

    5 stars
This carrot soup is amazing! So creamy and flavorful. Made it for my family and they loved it! Highly recommend!

  31. User avatar harry.berge82 says:

    3 stars
Good recipe but my blender broke halfway! Had to hand-mash the soup. Yikes! Next time I’ll just buy a new one lol.

  32. 5 stars
Im not a pro chef, but this soup is bomb! My family loved it, even my brother who hates carrots! 😂

    1. 4 stars
Glad to hear it! I was skeptical about the carrots too, but they really do add a nice flavor!

    2. User avatar justin.lesch87 says:

      3 stars
Makes me wanna try! But like, can you taste the carrot too much? Not a fan of strong flavors.

  33. User avatar rolland.torphy21 says:

    2 stars
Just a bowl of mushy orange stuff. Not for me. My kids wouldn’t even eat it! 😒

  34. 3 stars
I followed it pretty closely, but mine was a little thin. Maybe I simmered too short—20 minutes wasn’t quite enough for my carrots. Still tasty though.

  35. User avatar ollie.runte94 says:

    2 stars
Did I miss something? Where does the cream come from? I don’t want creamed soup!

  36. User avatar ludivina.kemmer says:

    3 stars
I followed it, but I found it a tad bland until I added more salt. Next time I’ll probably taste earlier too.

  37. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    4 stars
My kids loved it! Does anyone have tips on making it thicker? 🤔

  38. User avatar jodie.prohaska says:

    3 stars
It was okay, but I thought it was a bit too sweet. I prefer my soups savory. Might not make it again.

  39. User avatar magaly.morissette11 says:

    1 star
Why heavy cream? Seems unnecessary. Just eat the veggies! Way better without it, tbh.

  40. 4 stars
Texture was smooth after blending, but my carrots took longer than 20 minutes to soften. Maybe my chop was too chunky.

  41. User avatar katrice.pollich1956 says:

    5 stars
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about carrot soup being “that” good, but wow. It tastes like a restaurant starter. Will absolutely make again.

  42. User avatar julian.leannon50 says:

    3 stars
Carrots r healthy, so I guess this soup is too? But tastes plain.

  43. User avatar mac.ankunding says:

    5 stars
wow this soup changed my life! carrot magic indeed!

  44. 3 stars
It turned out okay, but mine was kinda bland. I think 1 tsp salt wasn’t enough for me—should’ve tasted as it simmered. Also pepper could be more.

    1. User avatar carmelo.wintheiser67 says:

      5 stars
I totally agree—carrot soup can taste a bit flat without tasting as it simmers. Next time I’ll bump the salt and probably add pepper earlier too.

  45. User avatar rickiestmorty says:

    3 stars
Why would I add cream if the carrots already have flavor? I skipped it and it still felt rich thanks to the butter and blended texture.

  46. User avatar suspiciousCommentator says:

    1 star
Carrots in soup? What’s next? Potato chips in salad? 😂

  47. 1 star
Carrot soup? Really? Who even eats that? Do y’all feel okay? 😂

    1. User avatar wellRespected says:

      2 stars
I dunno… I never thought soup could be made with carrots! Seems weird. Can it really taste good?

    2. 5 stars
Carrot soup is delicious! It’s healthy too, you should give it a try! 🥕

  48. 5 stars
Made this last night—super cozy. I used a little extra pepper and it tastes like something from a café.

  49. User avatar debby.heller90 says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight and it came out super smooth and cozy. The sautéed onion really builds the flavor. I used cream and it tasted like a restaurant bowl. 10/10!

    1. 4 stars
I tried it but my soup turned a little grainy (maybe I didn’t blend long enough). Still tasty though—next time I’ll make sure the carrots are super soft before pureeing. Thanks for the idea about using cream!

    2. User avatar rosario.schmitt81 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! The onion sauté step is everything. I love that you got that smooth + cozy texture—makes it feel like a real comfort bowl. 😄

  50. User avatar Eccentrica Gallumbits says:

    4 stars
I followed it mostly, but I didn’t have heavy cream so I used coconut milk. Still tasty, just a slightly different flavor—more tropical vibe, less classic.

    1. User avatar conrad.jenkins1981 says:

      5 stars
That makes sense! Coconut milk sounds like it would make it a bit sweeter and more aromatic. Glad it still tasted good—tropical carrot soup actually sounds kind of awesome.

    2. User avatar Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings says:

      3 stars
I’m not sure about swapping heavy cream for coconut milk… like the flavor shift could throw it off, ya know? But if you still liked it, cool. Next time maybe add a little less coconut milk so it’s not too overpowering.

  51. User avatar marta.denesik says:

    5 stars
This soup is absolutely delightful! The flavors are so rich and the carrots make it sweet. I added some garlic for extra taste. Will make again!

    1. User avatar juan.mitchell says:

      5 stars
Glad you liked it! Garlic is a great addition. I always throw in some herbs too, makes it even better!

  52. 5 stars
So easy to make! What a perfect lunch for a chilly day. Love it!

  53. User avatar kendall.crona2019 says:

    5 stars
I added some spices and a bit of lemon juice, it was so good! Def. making this again!

  54. 3 stars
I didn’t have heavy cream so I skipped it. Still good, but it didn’t feel as rich. Might try coconut milk next time.

  55. User avatar dee.casper70 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, I’m skeptical about how good carrots + broth will be without more seasoning. Ended up adding a pinch of cumin and garlic powder, then it finally tasted right.

  56. 5 stars
Made this tonight—surprisingly cozy. The blending step made it super smooth, and the flavor is sweet without being dessert-y. I used a splash more cream and it was perfect.

    1. User avatar matthew.satterfield says:

      3 stars
Hmm I tried it but mine came out kinda sweet-sweet? I only used 1/4 cup cream and still. Did I maybe blend too long or not salt enough? Next time I’ll add pepper first lol.

    2. User avatar Barry Manilow says:

      5 stars
So happy you liked it! Cozy is the perfect word for carrot soup—glad the extra splash of cream worked too. 😊

  57. User avatar tomas.carter1 says:

    4 stars
I was a bit skeptical at first, but this carrot soup was really tasty! I didn’t have heavy cream so I used almond milk instead and it worked great! 🙂

  58. User avatar Edwin Turner III says:

    5 stars
This turned out surprisingly smooth and sweet—loved the balance with the pepper. I used a little less salt and it was perfect.

  59. User avatar Chi Spurger says:

    5 stars
One of the best quick soups I’ve made. I used butter + onion and it smells amazing while it’s simmering. Super comforting.

    1. User avatar mel.schneider2020 says:

      5 stars
Yes!! I made this last week and it was so cozy. The butter + onion step really makes the whole pot smell amazing while it simmers.

    2. User avatar mao.rippin says:

      4 stars
Quick question—do you blend it while it’s still hot? Mine always splatters a bit and I’m scared lol. Also I add a tiny bit of garlic (maybe not traditional).

  60. User avatar lisandra.hermann28 says:

    1 star
Erm, I think vegetable broth is for vegetarians? I’m not one of those.

    1. 4 stars
You can use chicken broth instead if you want! Makes it richer. 😋

  61. 3 stars
Carrot soup sounds like baby food lol. But I tried it and it’s not bad. Next time I’ll add garlic or something because it feels like it’s missing a punch.

  62. User avatar cassy.dooley53 says:

    3 stars
Not bad, but mine turned out kinda thick? I might’ve had less broth than the recipe. Still tasted good though—pepper + salt hit nice.

  63. User avatar regan.lehner58 says:

    4 stars
Tasty and pretty easy. I used regular broth and skipped the cream (still good). Next time I’ll sauté the carrots a bit longer for deeper flavor.

  64. User avatar augustina.emard29 says:

    2 stars
Soup is soup! Doesn’t matter what you put in it, I guess. Not my favorite tho.

  65. User avatar cornell.mitchell says:

    4 stars
I used a blender in batches and it sprayed a little… so uh, be careful. Flavor is still good and warming, but cleanup is annoying. Might use the immersion blender next.

  66. 2 stars
I don’t know about this recipe. Carrots in soup? Sounds weird to me…

  67. User avatar chung.gaylord44 says:

    2 stars
Blending soup is so messy! I prefer just chunking vegetables up. Debating if I’ll try this again.

  68. User avatar Death Hound says:

    4 stars
Mine was a bit bland until I added extra black pepper and a tiny squeeze of lemon at the end. Now it’s honestly restaurant-level.

  69. 3 stars
The steps are fine, but I didn’t have an immersion blender so I blended in batches—burned my hand a little because I was rushing. Still, it worked.

  70. User avatar joe_banana says:

    4 stars
I followed the steps exactly, but mine was kind of bland until I upped the pepper and salt. The blending step is key though—once it was smooth it was great.

  71. 2 stars
Carrot soup? hmm. I don’t know… I guess I’m not a fan of sweet soups. The texture was smooth, but I’d rather add garlic and maybe cumin next time.

  72. 5 stars
Loved this soup! So easy to make and delicious. Will make again for sure.

  73. User avatar Goku Black says:

    2 stars
I feel like the heavy cream is unnecessary, the veggies should be enough flavor. Not a fan.

    1. User avatar carolina.reinger34 says:

      4 stars
I disagree! The cream adds richness that compliments the veggies beautifully. Have you tried it that way?

  74. User avatar oPandariaNo says:

I’m not usually a soup person, but this is genuinely good. Carrots turned out tender and sweet. Easy weeknight recipe.

    1. User avatar Slartibartfast says:

      5 stars
Wow, I’m also not a soup person but this one actually sounds doable. The carrots staying sweet is the best part 😄

  75. 5 stars
Loved the simplicity. No complicated ingredients, just carrots doing carrot things. My kid asked for seconds, so that’s basically a 10/10.

  76. User avatar donte.jenkins42 says:

    4 stars
My family loved it! So creamy and comforting. I omitted the cream tho cause I’m watching my weight.

  77. User avatar raymond.gislason6 says:

    5 stars
This soup is amazing! So creamy and delicious. I added some garlic for extra flavor, highly recommend!

  78. User avatar elana.auer38 says:

    5 stars
This turned out silky and cozy. I used low-sodium broth like the recipe and it didn’t taste watered down at all. The immersion blender step is key—no lumps!

  79. User avatar Sand-Dial says:

    2 stars
Why do you need cream? Carrots are sweet! Just use broth and spices, save the calories!!

  80. 2 stars
Carrot soup? hmm. I’m skeptical, but I guess I’ll try it. If it’s watery, I’m blaming the broth lol.

  81. User avatar louie.hills says:

    4 stars
Pretty tasty for a simple soup. I did 4 cups broth like it says, but it felt a little thick so I added a splash more. Still would make again.

    1. User avatar cornelia.gorczany says:

      5 stars
Glad you liked it! That thick texture can happen depending on carrot size and how much they reduce—adding a splash of broth is exactly the move. 🙂

    2. User avatar sung.swaniawski1964 says:

      4 stars
I made this too and mine was way thicker than “soup” should be 😂 Ended up thinning with more broth and it turned out great. Would definitely make again.

  82. User avatar shasta.gusikowski says:

    4 stars
Pretty good weeknight soup. I didn’t have heavy cream so I used coconut cream and it still tasted great. Would make again.

  83. User avatar leola.konopelski1962 says:

    4 stars
This is surprisingly good for how simple it is. I didn’t add the cream and it still tasted great—just more light. Would definitely make again, especially with homemade broth.

  84. 5 stars
Yum! Just made this, added a bit of garlic and it was delish! 🥕❤️

    1. 5 stars
Garlic sounds like a great addition! I bet it elevated the flavor. I’m gonna try it next time!

  85. User avatar tommie.hand says:

    3 stars
I don’t know, it was just ok. I thought it would be more flavorful, maybe I will add garlic next time.

  86. User avatar adaline.bailey62 says:

    3 stars
Ummmm can someone tell me why it says 20 min? I cooked my carrots for 30 and they still weren’t really soft… 😕

  87. 3 stars
I used regular broth because that’s what I had—still decent, but it got kinda salty. Low-sodium is the move.

  88. User avatar Harry Beard says:

Totally agree—skipping the cream just makes it taste kind of thin. The cream really bumps the mouthfeel up.

Great recipe! The times were accurate too—my carrots were tender right around 20 minutes. I used regular butter and didn’t measure the pepper exactly, but it worked out.

    1. User avatar yolonda.bernier says:

      5 stars
Love hearing that! Carrots getting tender at ~20 minutes feels right for this recipe. Using regular butter is totally fine too—did you add the cream at the end or keep it dairy-free?

  91. User avatar Peregrin Took says:

    5 stars
This soup is simply delicious! I love how creamy it turned out. Will definitely make again!

  92. User avatar lenny.bayer65 says:

    2 stars
Did you really need that much butter? Seems too fatty if you ask me.

  93. User avatar theodore.daniel35 says:

    5 stars
The directions are super easy, I’m not a chef at all and I still got a smooth puree. My picky kid even ate it—so yeah, win.

  94. User avatar Dwarven Shpere says:

    2 stars
Bland. Like, I added salt and pepper but it still tasted flat to me. Could be my broth? I’ll try roasting the carrots next time.

    1. User avatar carisa.dubuque says:

      3 stars
Huh, mine is never bland. Could be you didn’t sauté long enuf? Onion + butter need to get sweet. Next time try roasting the carrots AND add a clove of garlic or a pinch of cumin. If u used “low-sodium” broth, yeah it’ll taste like water.

    2. User avatar lou.legros1971 says:

      4 stars
Bummer! If it still tastes flat even after salt/pepper, your broth might be the culprit. Low-sodium broths can be really mild—maybe add a bit more salt, or a tiny splash of lemon/balsamic to brighten it. Also, blending fully helps; some carrot chunks can dull the flavor.

  95. User avatar cordia.jenkins28 says:

    4 stars
Carrot soup is a classic! Can’t wait to try it with some ginger next time!

  96. 3 stars
My soup turned out kind of watery. I think I used too much broth? I didn’t measure cups carefully. If anyone tries it, taste and adjust simmer time.

    1. User avatar fred.stoltenberg46 says:

      5 stars
Ahh I’ve had that happen too 😅 If you add a little extra broth, it stays thin. Next time you can simmer uncovered a bit longer to reduce, or add a spoonful of blended carrots to thicken it.

    2. 4 stars
Maybe 4 cups is just too much for that amount of carrot. I’d try using 3 cups broth next time. Also, pureeing longer helps—mine got silky even without cream once I blended it good.

  97. 3 stars
I don’t own an immersion blender—batch blending worked, but wow it splattered a bit. Be careful if your blender isn’t strong. Flavor is solid.

  98. User avatar joan.runte1961 says:

    4 stars
My kids loved it! I might have added too much salt by accident, but it was still yummy.

  99. User avatar Gerry Mayer says:

This soup is simple but elegant! Perfect for a chilly evening. Love how healthy it is too.

  100. User avatar alvin.jaskolski42 says:

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about carrot soup, but wow. Onion + butter did the heavy lifting. Next time I’ll add a pinch of cumin for extra depth.

    1. User avatar hettie.auer86 says:

      5 stars
Glad it worked for you! I’m usually skeptical with “simple” soups, but the onion-butter base makes sense. I’ll try cumin next time too—maybe a tiny pinch so it doesn’t overpower the carrot.

  101. User avatar rich.emard54 says:

    5 stars
Super cozy and way easier than I expected. I used a little extra pepper and it tasted restaurant-level.

  102. 3 stars
Okay but 4 cups broth with only 500g carrots feels like it might be too much/too little—mine was a little too watery at first. I simmered longer and it improved.

  103. 1 star
Carrots are probably healthy but I didn’t really like the taste. Made me feel sick.

  104. 4 stars
I’m not sure about the heavy cream. It’s “optional” but I feel like it’s necessary for balance. Without it, I thought it was a bit flat, but adding cream fixed it.

  105. User avatar monroe.braun94 says:

    4 stars
Not sure about 1 tsp salt for 4 cups—mine needed more, but that might be my broth brand. Overall flavor was good and not too bland.

  106. User avatar Lidia Stokes says:

    4 stars
This is good, but heavy cream is kinda unnecessary. I used coconut cream and it came out a bit sweeter (maybe my coconut was strong). Still good though.

  107. 4 stars
Made this with no cream and it’s good. Simple, quick! 🥕🥕

    1. 5 stars
That’s awesome! I never thought about skipping the cream. Gonna try it your way! 😄

  108. 3 stars
Not gonna lie, 20 minutes felt short for my carrots (they were big). I simmered closer to 30 and it finally got tender.

  109. User avatar gilberte.powlowski says:

    4 stars
I followed it pretty much exactly, but mine was a bit thin—next time I’ll simmer a little longer or use less broth. Still good though.

  110. User avatar tessie.goyette2003 says:

    3 stars
I think it needed more seasoning, maybe some thyme or something? Not bad but could be better.

    1. User avatar corey.sanford says:

      4 stars
I always add some garlic too, it really boosts the flavor! Maybe try that next time.

  111. User avatar irvin.stehr92 says:

    2 stars
This sounds kinda like baby food, ngl. Like smooth orange mush. But my kid ate it, so… fair.

    1. User avatar Future Trunks says:

      3 stars
Baby food?? Lol. Mine came out kinda thick though—did I blend it wrong or do I need to add more broth? Also I forgot the cream and it was still good.

    2. User avatar The Allitnils says:

      5 stars
Honestly I get the “mushy” vibe 😅 but that texture is the whole point for carrot soup. Glad your kid liked it!

  112. 4 stars
Followed the steps pretty much exactly. Maybe I simmered the carrots a tiny bit too long, but flavor was still great. Next time I’ll blend longer for an even silkier texture.

  113. User avatar altagracia.buckridge72 says:

    4 stars
Not gonna lie, blending took longer than the recipe said. Also my blender splashed… but the final soup was tasty once it calmed down.

  114. 5 stars
The instructions are clear and the immersion blender tip saved me from lumps. Creaminess was perfect with the heavy cream.

    1. User avatar guinea pig says:

      5 stars
Yes! The immersion blender step is clutch—carrot soup can go from silky to lumpy fast. I also found blending a little longer makes it super smooth.

    2. User avatar Spider Soldier says:

      4 stars
I didn’t even know you could do it that way. I just blended mine right in the pot but I burned the blender thing lol. Next time I’ll do the immersion blender thing—thanks.

  115. User avatar Thufir Hawat says:

    5 stars
Made this tonight—so cozy. The carrots got super sweet after simmering, and blending it smooth was honestly the best part. I used cream and it tastes like a restaurant soup.

  116. User avatar charlotte.langosh says:

    5 stars
Carrot soup is underrated. This one was easy and didn’t require anything fancy. Also, the immersion blender makes it way faster.

  117. User avatar raquel.pfeffer says:

    2 stars
Bland in my opinion. Like it tasted mostly like cooked carrots and onion. I kept adding pepper and still… meh. Could use garlic or something.

  118. User avatar Shamika Lehner says:

    3 stars
Carrots are great but this recipe feels a bit basic. No garlic, no spices—just butter, onion, broth. I added garlic and smoked paprika and it instantly felt more “real”.

  119. User avatar Bowerick Wowbagger says:

    5 stars
This soup was amazing! So easy to make and super tasty. Will definitely make again.

  120. 4 stars
Why only 1/2 tsp pepper? I doubled it and honestly loved the kick. Otherwise would be too mild for my taste.

  121. User avatar Dr. Donald Keebler says:

    3 stars
This is good but I feel like 500g carrots is too much? Mine came out super thick—had to add more broth. Still tasty, just adjust.

  122. User avatar halflife4 says:

    5 stars
Made this last night and wow—super comforting. The immersion blender made it silky, and the carrot sweetness really comes through with the black pepper.

  123. User avatar jovita.klocko says:

    4 stars
Sautéed the onion and butter for like 15 minutes because I got distracted… the soup still turned out fine, but it was sweeter than expected. I guess that’s on me.

  124. User avatar Grunthos the Flatulent says:

    4 stars
Pretty good base recipe. I used regular broth (couldn’t find low-sodium) and it turned out a bit saltier than expected, so next time I’ll go lighter on the salt at the end.

  125. User avatar hermila.crooks says:

    4 stars
Pretty solid basic carrot soup. I accidentally over-simmered mine by like 10 minutes but it still worked. Next time I’ll blend a bit longer for an extra silky texture.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—carrot soup is super forgiving. I’ve also overcooked it a bit before and it still tasted great. Blending longer really does make a smoother texture.

    2. User avatar hong.windler22 says:

      3 stars
Maybe I’m doing something wrong but mine was kinda thick and bland. I followed it mostly, but I didn’t simmer long enough I guess? Any tips? Also can I use half and half instead of cream?

  126. User avatar scottie.gutkowski says:

    4 stars
So easy. I was nervous about getting the carrots sweet, but the pepper and salt balance it really well. Next time I’ll add a tiny pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth.

  127. User avatar Gandalf the Grey says:

    2 stars
“Add 4 cups vegetable broth”?? That’s way too much in my pot. Mine stayed watery and didn’t thicken. Maybe I did something wrong but I won’t repeat.

  128. User avatar donny.wehner45 says:

    3 stars
The immersion blender step is crucial. I rushed it once and the texture was like baby food chunks—yikes.

  129. User avatar Vroomfondel says:

    4 stars
I’m confused by the order: do you blend before adding cream? I blended everything and then stirred cream after—still worked, but just saying the flow could be clearer.

  130. User avatar august.shanahan75 says:

    1 star
Dunno… I blended it and it turned out watery, not creamy. Maybe I used too much broth? The steps are fine though.

  131. User avatar kevin.klocko2009 says:

    4 stars
Pretty good, but 20 minutes simmer felt a bit short for my carrot chunks. I ended up simmering closer to 30. Still tasty though!

  132. User avatar sharika.cole says:

    2 stars
I tried this but my onion never got “translucent” after 5 minutes… maybe my pan was too hot? Still tasted okay though.

    1. 4 stars
Yeah, that sounds like heat/size of the onion issue. If the pan runs too hot the onion can brown before it turns translucent—try medium-low and give it 6–8 minutes, stirring more often.

  133. User avatar jamal.price says:

    4 stars
I followed it mostly. Kept getting too thick—maybe my carrots were extra dense? I added more broth and it turned out fine. Texture is the only thing I’d tweak.

    1. User avatar mirella.wilderman79 says:

      3 stars
Carrots extra dense? Maybe, but also 500g for “4 cups” broth seems like it could always be thick depending on pot size. I’d try 3.5 cups instead of 4 next time? Idk lol—texture is weird sometimes.

    2. User avatar lon.beahan91 says:

      5 stars
That sounds like exactly what to do—adding broth is the fix for thick soup. Dense carrots can do it, and also simmer time/evaporation. Next time you could add a little extra broth from the start and blend once it’s really tender.

  134. 3 stars
I followed the steps, but mine came out kinda thin and not as thick as I wanted. Maybe I blended too much water? Still tasty though—just not the texture I expected.

  135. User avatar beverlee.morissette says:

    4 stars
Honestly, I thought it would be bland. The salt said “to taste” which is scary, but I ended up adding a bit more and it woke up. Now I get why people like carrot soup.

  136. User avatar sterling.grimes2025 says:

    4 stars
Five minutes sautéing onions felt a little short to me, so I cooked mine closer to 10. Texture and flavor were better that way.

  137. User avatar carolyne.hermiston2019 says:

    4 stars
I don’t have an immersion blender so I blended in batches. It worked, but I burned myself a little (don’t be like me). Sauce is worth it!

  138. User avatar elda.mayert11 says:

    5 stars
This turned out super silky and cozy. I used the cream (obviously) and added a pinch of nutmeg—so good. Next time I’ll roast the carrots first for extra depth.
