Baked brie with blackberry jam is the ultimate appetizer, offering a perfect balance of creamy, gooey cheese and the sweet, slightly tart flavor of fresh blackberry jam. This elegant and simple dish is ideal for special occasions, holiday gatherings, or a cozy evening with friends. The warmth of the baked brie and the fruity richness of the jam create a comforting, delicious bite that’s impossible to resist.
The star of the dish is, of course, the brie cheese. Brie’s creamy texture and mild, buttery flavor become even more indulgent when baked. As the cheese warms in the oven, it softens and becomes luxuriously smooth, making it perfect for spreading on crackers or bread.
The blackberry jam adds a fruity contrast to the richness of the cheese. The sweet jam, with its vibrant berry flavor, perfectly complements the mild brie, while the slight acidity of the blackberries adds a depth of flavor that elevates the dish. A drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of fresh thyme or rosemary can be added to enhance the flavors and give the dish a more complex, aromatic touch.
To make this dish even more visually appealing, it can be served in a small baking dish, with the brie wheel intact, allowing guests to scoop out the soft, melted cheese and pair it with the jam. Serve it alongside crispy baguette slices, crackers, or fresh fruit like apple slices or grapes for an added layer of texture and freshness.
Baked brie with blackberry jam is a versatile appetizer. You can easily swap out the blackberry jam for other fruit preserves, such as raspberry, fig, or apricot, depending on your preference. It’s also perfect for pairing with a glass of white wine, sparkling wine, or even a light cocktail, making it a hit at any party.

Ingredients
- 1 wheel Brie cheese standard size, about 8 ounces
- 2 tablespoons blackberry jam or jam of your choice
- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed if frozen
- 1 egg beaten for egg wash
- 1 tablespoon water to mix with the egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to ensure it’s even.
- Place the Brie wheel in the center of the pastry. Top the Brie with blackberry jam.
- Fold the puff pastry up and around the Brie, sealing it well, and trimming any excess pastry if necessary.
- Mix the beaten egg with water to make an egg wash, then brush the surface of the wrapped Brie with the egg wash.
- Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Easy to make and so delicious! Will definitely make again. 10/10 recommend!!
I dunno, I thought it would be more melty? It was kinda dense. Maybe I didn’t bake it long enough?
Maybe try baking it a bit longer next time? Sometimes it just needs that extra time to get all melty and gooey! 😋
Nah, I think brie is overrated. I put craft cheese instead and it was better. Just my opinion.
This was amazing! My friends loved it at the party. Perfect blend of sweet and savory! 😊
Baked Brie is just the best! I can’t believe how easy it was. Thanks for sharing! 🎉
My kids loved it! They actually finished everything. Very easy to make.
Looks good, but how do I know if the cheese is melting properly? I dunno much about cooking fancy stuff like this.
That’s awesome! I love when kids finish their meals. This recipe sounds easy and delicious. I’m definitely gonna try it!
5 stars just cuz brie be like melt king 😄 but my puff pastry tore a little… still ate it anyway.
I’d worry it’ll leak and burn. Next time just seal with a little extra trimmed pastry or press it tighter—though I guess if it tasted good, no problem!
Lol brie truly is the melt king 😄 Even if the pastry tore a bit, the egg wash + baking should still make it work!
Too fancy for me. Why not just have brie on crackers or something? 🤔
I get that! Sometimes simple is better. But baked brie is so good! You should try it, it’s creamy and warm!
I made this for my party and everyone loved it! Easy recipe, thanks!
I don’t get how something so simple can taste so good… Really? Just cheese and pastry?
I’m so glad everyone enjoyed it! It’s such a hit at gatherings.
I used strawberry jam instead since that’s what I had. Still good, but I think blackberry would’ve been more tart and flavorful. 4/5.
Don’t know why you would bake cheese. Isn’t that just gross? Tried it for party and everyone loved it tho…
Baked cheese is actually super yummy! It’s like a warm hug. 😍
Can’t believe people like this. Too cheesy for me and the jam was weird with it. Just not my thing 🤷♀️.
Nah, I think it’s delish! The jam adds flavor! You just might not like the mix. Keep trying different combos!
I totally get that! It’s definitely an acquired taste. But I think the cheesiness actually contrasts sweet jams nicely. Maybe give it another go without the jam?
Baked from frozen! LOL. It was still good. Puff pastry magic, I guess? 🌟
Baked from frozen? That’s a game changer! 😄 Definitely trying this next time!
I’m not good with baking, but this seemed easy! My guest were impressed 🙂
Tried this for a small get-together—everyone kept grabbing “one more bite.” Next time I’ll add a tiny pinch of salt on the outside for extra flavor.
WOW just WOW! This is a game changer as an appetizer! Will make again, for sure!
I found the puff pastry a bit tricky to work with. My wrapping skills need improvement! But it tasted good.
This was a hit at our party! Everyone loved it, especially with the blackberry jam. Will definitely make again!
Glad to hear that people enjoyed it! The blackberry jam sounds like a perfect touch. What else did you serve at the party?
Made this for a get-together and it disappeared fast. The puff pastry came out perfectly golden, and the blackberry jam gave it this sweet-tangy vibe. Will absolutely make again.
I don’t get the hype, it’s just a fancy cheese blob. But hey, what do I know?
This was AMAZING! So cheesy and sweet, will definitely make again!
I’m glad you loved it! It’s such a treat, right? 😊
I’m not sure about 20 minutes at 375°F. Mine was browned fast but the inside felt slightly less melty, so I think it needs closer to 25. Tasty though!
AWESOME RECIPE! everyone at the potluck wanted seconds! 🔥🔥🔥
So easy and it looks fancy every time. The puff pastry puffed up perfectly and the blackberry jam really balanced the brie.
I tried this but my puff pastry kinda shrunk 😕 maybe my oven runs hot? Still tasted good though, just not as fancy looking.
Totally agree—mine puffed like crazy too. The jam + brie combo is the perfect sweet/savory balance. Will make again!
I don’t know… I feel like the jam might be too sweet? I like savory cheeses.
yum!! best cheesy snack ever! 😍
Cheesy snacks? I think it’s too much cheese, like why do we need that much?
This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it! 😋
It looked great but didn’t taste like I thought it would. Kind of bland for my liking. Maybe I needed more jam? 🤔
My family didn’t like it. They said the cheese was too strong.
This looks ridiculously good. The brie gets all melty and the blackberry jam makes it taste fancy without a ton of work. I’ll definitely try it with raspberry jam too.
So good! But I used strawberry jam instead and it was still awesome. Who knew brie could be so fancy?!
Fancy? It’s just cheese wrapped in pastry, right? I dunno about fancy…
I never thought of using strawberry jam! That sounds great! I gotta try that next time.
Yum! I could eat this every day! Perfect for my wine nights. Thank you for sharing this!
This sounds amazing! I love Brie and blackberry together. Perfect combo for a party!
Looks good, but is Brie really the best cheese for this? I’ve seen it made with cheddar too.
Is it okay to use other cheese? I only have mozzarella. 😬
I think mozzarella would work too! Just make sure to add some herbs or spices to give it more flavor! 👍
You could use mozzarella, but it won’t taste the same. Brie has a rich flavor that mozzarella doesn’t have, so it might be different. 😕
My pastry tore when I tried to fold it around the brie. I patched it with extra dough and it was fine, but not exactly “no stress.”
Who thought of this? Big thumbs up! Perfect for parties! Just throw in some nuts and it’s a hit! 🙌
Totally agree! This dish is always a crowd-pleaser! 🧀❤️
I think you forgot to mention how much time to let it cool before you eat it!
Oh good catch! I usually let it cool for about 10 minutes, but it’s always best to check if it’s too hot or not. Thanks for pointing that out!
This was super easy and my guests loved it! Will definitely make again.
Pretty good, but sealing the pastry was a pain. I watched a video before and mine still leaked a little jam (rip). Tastes great even when messy, so meh.
What do you mean ‘wheel’ of brie? Do I need a special tool to cut it? LOL.
Delicious! I used raspberry instead of blackberry and it turned out great! 😋
Baked Brie? Isn’t that just melted cheese? My kids hated it!
Melted cheese is like half of it! The pastry makes it special! Your kids must be picky eaters, you should try other toppings.
I actually loved it! The jam adds a nice flavor. Maybe they just didn’t like the combination? Try it with honey next time!
Pretty good, but I think 20 minutes might be a little short depending on your oven. Mine needed like 25 to get properly puffed and browned. Still tasty though—Brie + jam is always a win.
I tried it but I think I baked it too long. It turned out a bit burnt 😬. Should have watched it more closely.
Don’t worry! A little burnt just adds character. Next time, maybe set a timer or something? 😄
So easy and sooo gooood! I used raspberry jam instead because I’m not a fan of blackberries.
I messed up the pastry and it was a disaster. Tasted okay but looked awful!
Don’t worry! Sometimes it’s the taste that matters most. At least it was edible!
Sounds like you need more practice with pastry. It takes time! Just keep trying!
Tried this for a small get-together and it disappeared fast. The pastry came out perfectly golden and the blackberry jam added just the right sweet-tangy vibe. I let it cool like the instructions said—huge difference so it doesn’t ooze everywhere.
Brie cheese is just a fancy way of saying ‘cheese that smells funny’! Why not just use cheddar? 🤷♂️
Quick and easy! But I forgot to preheat the oven and had to wait longer. Still yummy tho!
Glad you enjoyed it! Forgetting to preheat is a classic move. I do it all the time. 😊
Sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me! How did the texture turn out? 🤔
Baked this for a party, but kinda embarrassing when it fell apart. Still tasted good tho.
Wow this is like a cheesy present! I didn’t realize it was so simple to make.
I don’t know, it seems a bit too easy. Is it really that good? I might be skeptical about the flavor combo.
This looks amazing! I love the idea of blackberry jam with Brie. Can’t wait to try it!
Mine turned out burnt! 🙁 Followed the recipe exactly. What did I do wrong?
The pastry was soggy for me, I dont know why. Maybe I rolled it too thin?
I don’t know… brie in puff pastry feels fancy but kinda bland to me. Also blackberry jam is pricey where I live. Could use something more salty like caramelized onions?
Why do people always put egg wash on puff pastry? Mine didn’t need it, it browns anyway. I skipped it and it was still golden. Brie melted great though.
Totally agree—puff pastry browns nicely on its own. I usually skip egg wash if I’m in a hurry, especially if I’m not aiming for a super glossy top. Your Brie sounds like it turned out perfect!
I don’t know, the pastry looks kinda bland. Is it really worth the fuss? ⭐⭐
Baked brie is overrated! Cheese is just cheese, not impressed.
Eh, I wasn’t impressed. The jam didn’t really shine through. Maybe more jam?
Not gonna lie, the “jam of your choice” line makes me nervous. I tried orange marmalade once and it was… weirdly bitter? But blackberry is solid. Recipe is fine, just pick jam wisely.
Totally get what you mean—jam can make or break it. I’d stick to blackberry or something similar fruity/sweet, not citrusy or overly bitter marmalades.
This was a total hit at my party! Everyone loved it!
So good! I could eat this every day! Life-changing!!!
Why not use cheddar? Brie is overrated. Just saying.
This was a hit at my party! Everyone loved it! Super cheesy goodness!!
I dunno, Brie seems kinda weird. Who puts jam on cheese? Sounds gross.
I’m so glad to hear that! This dish really knows how to impress. I can’t wait to make it for my next gathering!
Bake it longer than 20 minutes! Mine came out soggy. ☹️
I totally agree! I baked mine for 30 minutes and it was perfect. Maybe your oven temp was off?
Soggy? That sucks! Try a higher temp next time or leave it in longer. 😕
This was… fine. The flavors are nice, but it felt kinda rich and heavy for me. I served it with crackers and it was better that way. Next time I might add some herbs or nuts for contrast.
I’ve never used puff pastry before. This was easier than I thought but still feels fancy.
I’m so glad you found it easy! Puff pastry can be intimidating, but it really does make everything taste fancy. Enjoy your baked Brie!
I don’t get it. How can cheese wrapped in pastry be good? Seems weird.
It’s actually amazing! The creamy cheese pairs so well with the flaky pastry and sweet jam. You should try it before saying it’s weird! Trust me!
Perfect for parties! Everyone loved it! I used raspberry jam instead. Yum!
I thought it would be hard to make, but it was super easy! Who knew? 😄
The directions were confusing. How do I know when it’s baked? Needs more clarity.
My dog loved it! But I think he could’ve made it better, lol!
umm i tried it but my puff pastry sheet wasnt thawed enough and it tore 😭. The taste was still fine though. Maybe chill it a bit before folding?
Oh no 😭 yeah, thawing is everything with puff pastry. If it’s even slightly stiff it’ll crack when you fold. I’d do a quicker thaw until pliable (usually 15–30 min depending on brand) before wrapping.
This is a total crowd-pleaser! My kids even liked it!
