This sounds easy, but we didn’t have bay leaves. Not sure it will work without them.

You can still make it without bay leaves! The other ingredients are flavorful enough. Just add a bit more seasoning if you like.

Could you use chicken instead? I’m not a big pork person.

I followed the recipe but it turned out dry. Maybe too long simmering?

I don’t understand why you would boil pork chops. Isn’t that just ruining them?

Boiling pork chops actually makes them super tender! Give it a try before you knock it. 😋

Too much water, my chops were swimming! Next time I’ll try less.

It was edible but kinda bland for me. Salt amount is vague—like, how much is “salt”? I ended up salting again and adding extra pepper. If you’re sensitive to blandness, adjust.

I didn’t have bay leaves so I used thyme and it still worked. Also I covered the pot but kept checking so it didn’t go dry.

I was skeptical about boiling pork chops. Isn’t that for beef? But wow, they turned out great!

  26. 3 stars
My chops were tough, guess I boiled them too long? Not sure if I’ll try again.

  27. 2 stars
Why are bay leaves necessary? They don’t even add taste, do they?

Meat too hard for me. Didn’t work out. Gonna stick to grilling. 👎

    1. User avatar isaias.daugherty55 says:

Grilling is def easier! Boiling seems weird for meat, like, how can it be good? Just stick to what you enjoy! 👩‍🍳

Sorry to hear that! Maybe try cooking them for a bit longer next time? They should get tender if you simmer them enough.

I think “fill it with enough water to cover” is too much—mine boiled forever and I lost flavor in the water. Also 1 hour might be long for thin chops. Overall okay, but I’d reduce the water and check doneness earlier.

I followed the recipe but it turned out kinda bland. Maybe some seasoning other than just salt and pepper would help?
