Tuna Wrap

March 20, 2024

When you’re short on time but still want a satisfying, nutritious meal, a tuna wrap is one of the easiest solutions. It’s fresh, fast, and endlessly customizable. Whether you’re prepping lunch for work or making a quick dinner, this wrap delivers on both flavor and convenience.

The base of this recipe is simple: canned tuna, your favorite wrap or tortilla, and a mix of crunchy vegetables. Start with a high-quality tuna packed in water or olive oil. Drain it well and mix it with a little mayo or Greek yogurt, depending on how creamy you like it. A touch of Dijon mustard or lemon juice can add a tangy kick.

From there, load it up with color and texture. Crisp romaine or baby spinach adds freshness, while thinly sliced cucumbers, shredded carrots, and bell peppers give crunch and sweetness. Red onions or pickles can bring a bit of zing, too.

Want to make it heartier? Add some cooked quinoa or chickpeas. Need a bit more flavor? Throw in some chopped olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or fresh herbs like parsley or dill. The beauty of a tuna wrap is how easily it adapts to what you have on hand.

Lay your tortilla flat, layer your tuna mixture and veggies, then roll it up tightly. If you’re not eating it right away, wrap it in foil or parchment paper to keep everything together. It holds up well in the fridge for a few hours, making it a great option for meal prep.

This tuna wrap checks all the boxes: it’s light but filling, healthy but satisfying, and comes together in less than 10 minutes. Serve it with a side of fruit, some chips, or a simple salad, and you’ve got a balanced meal without the fuss. Whether you’re fueling up for the day or winding down with a simple dinner, this wrap is a no-fail favorite.

Tuna wraps are perfect for on-the-go meals or packed lunches. Busy individuals who need a quick and nutritious meal find tuna wraps ideal because they are easy to assemble and can be prepared ahead of time.

Tuna wraps can be a lower-calorie option compared to sandwiches made with heavier fillings like deli meats or mayonnaise-based salads. By using light or water-packed tuna and loading up on veggies, you can create a filling and satisfying wrap without excess calories.

Tuna is a good source of several important vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium, and potassium. These nutrients play various roles in supporting overall health, from promoting bone health to regulating blood pressure.

Whatcha mean, ‘mix well’? Do you just stir or what? My wrap fell apart. 😩

    1. 4 stars
Mixing means stir it all together like you would make a salad! But try not to tear the tortillas when you roll them. Good luck next time!

I thought it was too wet with that much mayo. Next time I’ll cut back a little.

Not gonna lie, the olives in a tuna wrap sounds weird to me, but I tried it anyway. It actually worked. Weirdly… good.

This is not a wrap, its just a tuna salad in a tortilla. Disappointing.

Not a fan of feta. Could I use cheddar cheese instead?

Can I use-salmon instead? I don’t like tuna. Does it matter?

I don’t like vegetables, but I tried this with just the tuna and mayo, and it wasn’t bad! 😅

1/4 cup red onion + 1/4 cup celery + dill… that’s a lot of chopped stuff. I’m lazy so I used pre-chopped veggies and it turned out okay, but not as fresh.

    1. 5 stars
I feel you—those small dice add up fast. Pre-chopped works in a pinch, but yeah, the flavor/texture won’t be quite as snappy as fresh.

Wait… red onion + celery is supposed to be “lazy-friendly”? I just dump in whatever I have lol. Still taste like tuna mayo in a wrap to me. Also I used oregano instead of dill once—wasn’t great, but edible.

Wow, quick dinner! I used regular tortillas but same idea. Family liked it—especially the feta. Would give 10 stars if I could lol.

Too many ingredients for a simple wrap. Isn’t it just tuna on bread?

Idk… tuna + olives + feta felt weird to me. Like it’s not a bad idea, but the flavors didn’t click. Might be a me thing.

Didn’t have dill so I used parsley instead. Still yum!

  17. User avatar edelmira.daniel says:

I followed it mostly, but I didn’t dice the onion super fine, so I got these big onion bites. Still tasty though—just watch the chop size.

I had the same issue with the tortillas! They just crumbled when I tried to wrap them. Maybe we should use regular tortillas instead.

I don’t think tuna and feta go together at all. Might just stick to plain tuna wraps.

    1. User avatar basementDweller says:

I think feta adds a nice tangy flavor that complements the tuna! You should give it a try!
