Strawberry Avocado Salad

April 8, 2026

There’s something magical about the pairing of strawberries and avocados. One is bright, sweet, and juicy, the other creamy, smooth, and rich. Together, they create a salad that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.

This Strawberry Avocado Salad is a perfect way to embrace the flavors of spring and summer. It’s quick to make, packed with nutrients, and offers a refreshing break from the usual leafy green salads. The sweetness of the strawberries complements the buttery avocado, while fresh greens like baby spinach or arugula add a peppery bite that balances the dish.

To add some crunch, sprinkle in toasted almonds or candied pecans. A bit of crumbled feta or goat cheese brings a salty tang that ties everything together. And the dressing? A simple mix of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, and a pinch of salt and pepper is all you need to bring out the flavors.

This salad isn’t just a pretty plate, it’s also incredibly nourishing. Avocados are rich in healthy fats and fiber, while strawberries are loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants. The result is a dish that feels indulgent but is actually good for you.

Serve it as a light lunch, a starter for a dinner party, or a side dish at your next picnic. It’s also easy to customize, toss in some grilled chicken or shrimp to make it a full meal, or add quinoa for extra protein and texture.

What makes this salad stand out is its contrast of textures and flavors: juicy fruit, creamy avocado, tangy cheese, and crisp greens. Every bite is a little different, and that’s what keeps it interesting.

Whether you’re trying to eat more colorfully, looking for something new to try with your spring strawberries, or just want a quick, fresh salad that impresses, this Strawberry Avocado Salad is a seasonal must-have. It’s simple, elegant, and bursting with flavor, just like summer on a plate.

I don’t like feta but tried it anyway. Next time, I’ll omit it. Anyone tried it with goat cheese?

    1. User avatar Lissandra says:

      4 stars
I think goat cheese would work great! It’s creamy and has a nice flavor. I’m not a fan of feta either.

It was okay but honestly, I think it could use some nuts or something for crunch. Just my opinion!

Honestly, who puts nuts in a salad? It’s already great as is. Just enjoy it without complicating things.

I agree! Some walnuts or pecans would really make it pop! Maybe even some almonds for extra crunch. 😋

Okay but, what if I don’t have feta? Can I use cheddar instead? Also, balsamic vinaigrette is kinda too tangy for me.

Is there any substitute for the balsamic vinaigrette? I can’t stand it!

This is a simple recipe, but it lacked flavor. I added some nuts and a bit of honey, which helped a lot.

I thought this would be better… it was kinda bland. Maybe I used too much vinaigrette?

    1. User avatar hal.hackett65 says:

I always thought salad was just a side dish, but this one looks good! Maybe you should add some nuts or a touch of honey for extra flavor next time!

I dunno, it felt kinda bland to me. Like where’s the flavor? Maybe try adding some nuts or a bit of garlic? Gonna give it a 2.

I totally get you! It could use some extra oomph. I always throw in some walnuts for crunch. ??

Too simple for me. I like my salads more filling with grains or chicken. Not a fan.

    1. User avatar trena.schaefer says:

      4 stars
I totally get it! Not everyone loves the light stuff. Have you tried adding quinoa or grilled chicken to your salads? It makes them way more filling!

  13. 2 stars
I don’t get how this is a salad. Aren’t salads supposed to have lettuce? Seems odd.

    1. User avatar Dewayne Donnelly says:

      4 stars
I see your point! But salads can be more than just lettuce, right? The flavors in this combo sound great!

    2. User avatar Draugr Wight says:

No lettuce? That’s just wrong. What’s next, taco salad without the taco? 🤔

IDK if I did it right, but my avocado was mushy and the dressing spilled everywhere! Was not a good time. 1 star.

    1. User avatar sheena.bogan24 says:

      4 stars
Oh no! That sounds frustrating! Maybe the avocado was overripe? It happens. I usually just check for a slight squeeze before buying. Don’t give up! 🌟

  23. User avatar NAFO.SUPREMACY says:

I don’t see how avocados belong in a salad. Tried it and it was meh. I’ll stick with traditional salads.

  24. 3 stars
Tried this and it was ok. Liked the idea but prefer my salads with dressing on the side, too soggy otherwise.

  25. User avatar Abdul Treutel says:

I don’t get why everyone loves this salad. The avocados were mushy and the vinaigrette was too tangy. Not for me.

  30. User avatar Falmer Archer says:

  34. 2 stars
Not for me. The combo of strawberries and avocado seemed odd, like why would you mix fruits with veggies?

  35. User avatar marchelle.corkery73 says:

    4 stars
Delicious! Use Olive oil instead of balsamic for a different taste!

    1. 5 stars
Nah, it ain’t just a salad. The strawberry and avocado combo is bomb! Trust me!

  43. 3 stars
Tastes fine, but the feta? Don’t get it. Can I leave it out?

  44. User avatar val.emmerich says:

    1 star
Why do you add salt? This is a sweet salad, it don’t need salt! 🤔

  45. User avatar luis.rippin1990 says:

Ehh, I prefer my salads without fruits. Just didn’t hit the spot for me.

    1. User avatar Lumberjack says:

      4 stars
I totally get that! Fruits in salads can be a hit or miss. I actually love the sweetness of strawberries with the avocado, but sometimes you just want a classic salad. What do you usually add instead?

    2. User avatar errol.littel says:

      3 stars
Nah, I think fruits make it special! But I guess if ya don’t like it, you don’t like it. 🤷‍♂️

  46. User avatar chase.effertz18 says:

    5 stars
This salad is amazing! The flavors are so fresh and vibrant. Loved it!

Cool combo, but I think I’m a little confused on how to slice an avocado. Help!!

    1. User avatar edwardo.padberg93 says:

      5 stars
Slicing an avocado is easy! Just cut it in half, twist it to separate, and then slice it while it’s still in the skin. Just be careful with the pit!
