Salmon Burgers are a delicious, healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers, offering a light yet flavorful option that’s perfect for a summer barbecue or a weeknight dinner. Made with fresh salmon, these burgers are tender, juicy, and packed with protein and omega-3 fatty acids. With their slightly crispy exterior and moist interior, they provide a satisfying bite with a hint of the sea, complemented by fresh herbs, seasonings, and a simple sauce. Whether you serve them in a bun or over a salad, salmon burgers are a versatile and tasty dish that everyone will enjoy.
The foundation of burgers is fresh salmon, which can be either finely chopped or processed into a smooth patty mixture. The salmon is then mixed with breadcrumbs or panko, eggs, and seasonings like garlic, lemon zest, and fresh herbs such as dill or parsley. A touch of Dijon mustard or mayonnaise helps bind the ingredients together while adding moisture and flavor. Once the mixture is formed into patties, they’re pan-fried or grilled to golden perfection, creating a crisp crust while keeping the inside tender and flavorful.
For the perfect finishing touch, these burgers can be served on a toasted bun with your favorite toppings. A creamy lemon dill sauce or tzatziki sauce adds an extra layer of flavor, while fresh lettuce, tomato, and avocado provide texture and freshness. If you’re looking to make the dish even lighter, you can serve the salmon burgers on a bed of greens or with a side of roasted vegetables for a healthier option.
Salmon burgers are an incredibly flexible dish that can be easily customized. You can experiment with different seasonings, adding chili flakes for heat, or swapping in other herbs like cilantro for a fresh twist. You can also make them ahead of time and refrigerate them for later use, making them a great option for meal prepping.
These flavorful salmon burgers are perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner, a summer cookout, or a light lunch. They’re an easy way to enjoy the rich taste of fish in a familiar and satisfying format, offering all the benefits of salmon in a fun, handheld meal.

I dunno, mine fell apart when I cooked them. Maybe I did it wrong… not sure I would do this again.
Not bad at all. I had to add a tiny splash of olive oil to the mix because it felt a little dry with my breadcrumbs, but once pan-seared they were good.
Absolutely loved this recipe! The salmon burgers were juicy and packed with flavor. Will definitely make again!
Delish!
These salmon burgers were a hit at my BBQ! Everyone loved them, even the picky eaters.
So glad to hear that! These burgers are one of my favorites. I added some avocado to mine, and it was delicious!
Yum! These are incredible! I added some avocado too. 5 stars!
Sounds good but salmon burgers? Really? I mean, coulda just made regular burgers. 🤷♂️
I tried it too, and I think it could use some more spices. But avocado is a cool idea! I’ll give it 4 stars.
My kids loved these! I added a bit of cheese and they were a hit. Thank you!
These salmon burgers are a game changer! So tasty and easy to make. Will definitely make again!
These burgers are a bit too fishy for my taste. Maybe I overcooked them?
I think they might be fishy because of the salmon itself. Did you use fresh salmon? That could make a big difference.
Maybe try cooking them less time next time? Overcooked salmon can get all weird and fishy. Good luck! 🍔
Yummmm!!! Just made these, and they’re amazing! Wish I could share a pic!
Buns were toasted—perfect. But honestly I think they’d be even better as lettuce wraps instead of burgers. Less mess, more protein.
Honestly I get it—lettuce wraps would be way less messy and still super filling. I’ve done salmon patties in romaine before and they hold up great. Might need a thicker patty though so it doesn’t break when you fold it.
Umm I’m not sure about lettuce wraps… salmon is already kinda delicate 😅 Buns help keep it together and you get that nice toast flavor. If you try wraps, maybe chill the patties first so they bind better, otherwise they’ll fall apart.
Not for me. Why would ya put fish in a burger? Hand me a beef patty any day.
The cook time says 4-5 minutes each side, but mine needed more like 6-7 to feel fully cooked. Maybe my patties were thicker.
Too fishy for my tastes. I think I’ll stick to beef burgers.
I had no breadcrumbs, so I used crushed chips instead. It was weird but kinda good! 😅
The lemon juice seemed strong to me—like kinda sharp. I’d start with 2 teaspoons instead of a full tablespoon if you’re sensitive.
Good call—1 tbsp lemon juice can be pretty punchy. I usually do 2 tsp and it still brightens the burgers without overpowering them.
Wait, I think 1 full tablespoon is right—salmon can take it. If you go too low it won’t taste like “lemony” burgers to me 😅
Salmon in a burger? That’s kinda weird 🤔. Not for me!
Weird? Nah, it’s delicious! You gotta try it at least once. Don’t knock it till you try it! 😜
I actually think salmon burgers are a great idea! They’re healthy and tasty. Give it a shot! 😊
These salmon burgers are a game changer! I made them for a family cookout and everyone loved them! Will definitely make again.
I totally agree! These salmon burgers are so good! Glad your family enjoyed them too!
I added a little dill and it really boosted the flavor. Pretty easy and doesn’t feel like “fishy” food. Would make again.
Fast and easy. I used tuna instead of salmon, still great!
Why use salmon when you can have chicken patties? Just saying.
Salmon is way better than chicken! It’s healthier and tastes amazing. Try it! 😍
Ain’t no way salmon burgers are better than chicken patties! Chicken is more filling too.
Can I make this with chicken? 😉
I think I put too much garlic… it was a bit strong. But overall, it tasted good!
Mine stuck to the skillet a bit and didn’t brown evenly. Next time I’ll preheat longer and maybe use nonstick spray. Still tasted good though.
I followed the recipe but the patties fell apart while cooking. Not sure what I did wrong. Wont be trying again.
Sorry to hear that! Maybe the mixture was too dry? I usually add a bit more mayo or an extra egg to help hold them together.
Can confirm! Mine also fell apart. I think we should check if we’re using fresh salmon, right? Makes a diff, I swear!
These were bland. I followed the recipe exactly and it just tasted like salmon with breadcrumbs. Maybe my garlic was weak?
Never thought I’d like salmon like this. 10 outta 10, will tell my friends to try.
Easy peasy! I swapped the salmon for tuna since that’s all I had, still turned out great! #cookinghack
Fish burgers? Uh, okay. Not sure about this one, but I guess it’s worth a try.
Yum! I tried adding some dill and it was a hit! Everyone was impressed! 😋
