Mimosa with Strawberries

February 12, 2024

A mimosa with strawberries is a delightful and festive version of the classic brunch cocktail. The vibrant pink hue from the strawberries, combined with the refreshing sparkle of champagne or sparkling wine and the citrusy tang of orange juice, makes it a perfect drink for celebrations, brunches, or casual get-togethers.

The foundation of this cocktail is simple, orange juice and sparkling wine. While the traditional mimosa uses regular orange juice, adding a twist of fresh strawberries enhances both the flavor and the visual appeal. You can either slice the strawberries and drop them directly into the glass for a pop of color, or blend them into a puree to mix directly with the orange juice for an added burst of berry sweetness.

For the sparkling wine, you can opt for champagne, prosecco, or any sparkling white wine you prefer. The key is to choose a wine with enough effervescence to balance the sweetness of the strawberries and the tanginess of the orange juice. The bubbles add a festive touch, making this mimosa the perfect drink for brunch, holiday gatherings, or any occasion that calls for a little celebration.

To prepare, simply pour the orange juice into your glass, top with sparkling wine, and add a few fresh strawberry slices or a spoonful of strawberry puree. The combination of fruity flavors and fizzy bubbles makes this drink refreshing and light. If you’re feeling creative, you can garnish your mimosa with a whole strawberry on the rim or a sprig of fresh mint for an added touch of elegance.

This romantic and delicious Mimosa with strawberries cocktail is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved ones. Combining the freshness of orange juice with the bubbly effervescence of champagne, this cocktail is a popular choice for special occasions.

The Mimosa with strawberries cocktail is a classic favorite for brunches, bridal showers, and of course, romantic occasions like Valentine’s Day. Its simplicity and delightful taste make it a popular choice among cocktail enthusiasts.

While the Mimosa cocktail is a delightful treat, it’s important to enjoy it in moderation due to its alcohol content. However, the addition of fresh orange juice provides a dose of Vitamin C and other antioxidants. Opting for a freshly squeezed juice can enhance the health benefits of this cocktail.

But isn’t it just orange juice and fizz? Seems kinda basic to me…🤔

  6. User avatar ALTplusF4 says:

I did exactly the recipe but mine went flat super quick. Maybe my glasses were warm? Also the strawberries sank, lol.

  7. User avatar genaro.swaniawski13 says:

Strawberries on top = instant romance. Also I accidentally poured too much in the first glass and oops—still delicious.

Yum! Can’t wait to serve these on Valentine’s! ❤️

  9. User avatar adelaide.lemke1970 says:

I don’t think Mimosas should have strawberries… seems kinda weird to me. Orange juice and champagne is enough!

  10. User avatar kerry.goodwin2005 says:

    3 stars
This recipe was a bit too basic for me. I added some peach juice for extra flavor.

  11. User avatar venetta.heaney90 says:

Did you need to mix the juice and champagn? I just poured them separately… it still worked?

OMG, so good! Made them for my boyfriend and he can’t stop asking for more!

  15. User avatar landon.turcotte says:

    4 stars
Simple but cute. I used refrigerated orange juice and it still worked great. Only thing: I’d say garnish right before serving because the berries start floating weird.

  16. User avatar isiah.farrell says:

    4 stars
I didn’t have champagne, so I used soda water instead. Not the same but still tasty! 😂

  17. User avatar eugene.yost88 says:

Wow, this is so easy! I made it for a party and everyone loved it! 😍

  18. User avatar isabell.wisozk92 says:

    4 stars
Good basic recipe but next time I’m adding some peach juice to jazz it up a bit. 🌟

    1. 3 stars
Peach juice? Never thought of that, but okay! 🤔 Can’t imagine it working tho.

    2. User avatar edyth.jaskolski80 says:

      5 stars
That sounds like a delicious twist! I love peach juice in drinks. 🥳

  19. User avatar shavonne.funk80 says:

    2 stars
I don’t see how it’s special. It’s just juice and bubbly. Meh.

    1. 4 stars
I get what you’re saying, but sometimes simple is best! This is perfect for brunch with friends.

    2. 3 stars
But it’s not just juice and bubbly! The strawberries make it special! You gotta try it at least once.

  20. User avatar britney.larson92 says:

    5 stars
So tasty! I made it for my partner and we both enjoyed it. Will make again for sure!

  21. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

    5 stars
I added some peach puree too, and wow! Way better than regular mimosas! My friends couldn’t get enough! 🍑🥂

    1. 5 stars
Peach puree sounds delicious! I’ll have to try that next time. Thanks for the tip! 🍑✨

  22. User avatar vanetta.schaefer96 says:

    3 stars
Tastes great! But, like, isn’t champagne just really expensive sparkling wine? Why not just use soda instead?

    1. User avatar rich.landlord says:

      4 stars
Haha, you got a point! But champagne adds a special flair, ya know? It’s like a celebration in a glass. Soda just ain’t the same! 🍾

  23. 3 stars
Okay but… “stir gently” is doing some heavy lifting here. I poured too fast and it got kinda foamy. Still tasty though.

    1. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

      4 stars
Yeah, “stir gently” is definitely the whole trick. Foamy mimosa usually still tastes fine though—next time just pour the champagne in slower or whisk super light.

  24. User avatar xochitl.botsford22 says:

    5 stars
OMG YUM! I could drink this all day! Perfect for any celebration! 🌟

  25. User avatar cecelia.hoeger says:

    1 star
Doesn’t champagne make it go flat? I might just stick to soda 😒

    1. User avatar lindsey.wintheiser says:

      4 stars
Actually, champagne won’t go flat right away! If you pour it slow and serve it right, it’ll stay bubbly for a while. Don’t give up on mimosas! 🍾

  26. User avatar colene.kuvalis1983 says:

    2 stars
Why so little ingredients? I feel like it needs more fruit or something. Not enough flavor for me.

  27. User avatar Saturnina Zemlak says:

    1 star
Sorry but this didn’t work for me. I think 2 cups orange juice is too much—tastes kinda like orange soda. Also, I didn’t have strawberries so I used raspberries and it was weird.

    1. 4 stars
Aw that sucks! I’ve noticed 2 cups OJ can definitely overpower it—more like orange soda if the juice is sweet. Next time try 1 cup orange juice and top off with the champagne. Also raspberries sound tasty but yeah, not quite the same vibe as strawberries for the garnish.

  28. User avatar mathWizard says:

    2 stars
Really? Just juice and champagne? It’s just for drinking, not cooking! 🙄

    1. 5 stars
Mimosas are amazing! Sometimes simple is best. Perfect for brunch, not for cooking! 🥂🍊

  29. User avatar steve_maga says:

    2 stars
Meh. Too sweet for me. Maybe use less orange juice next time?

  30. User avatar jerrell.gaylord says:

    1 star
Eh. I don’t see what the fuss is about. Just orange juice and wine. 🤷‍♂️

    1. User avatar Frost Atronach says:

      4 stars
I get what you mean, but sometimes simple is best! Mimosas are all about enjoying good company, right?

  31. User avatar my.breitenberg57 says:

    4 stars
Why strawberries? They just sink! Still delicious tho. Will try with raspberries next time.

  32. User avatar basil.hintz38 says:

    3 stars
This recipe is so basic, do people really need instructions for this? Can you mess it up? Haha!!!

  33. User avatar carey.dicki55 says:

    4 stars
Easy and delicious! Just like my grandma used to make. 🍾

  34. 3 stars
I tried this with sparkling water instead of Champagne. It was okay, but not the same.

  35. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    4 stars
Used cheap champagne for this and it was still a hit at the party! Will repeat for sure!

  36. 3 stars
Looks cute but 2 cups OJ + a whole bottle seems kinda strong? Like it’ll go fast. Tastes good though.

  37. User avatar mica.steuber2003 says:

    3 stars
I messed up and didn’t stir gently, it got kinda fizzy-over lol. Tasted fine, but presentation was rough. Also, strawberries were expensive here 😅

  38. 4 stars
I put berries instead of strawberries and it was still good. Make sure to chill the champagne! 🍾

    1. User avatar tissues_with_issues says:

      4 stars
Berries instead of strawberries? That’s interesting! I never thought of that. Might give it a shot!

  39. User avatar kimbery.boehm says:

    2 stars
I don’t get the point—it’s basically orange juice and sparkling wine, right? Still, it looks pretty in the glass.

  40. User avatar gayle.prosacco1954 says:

    1 star
Meh. I tried it, but my strawberries sank and the drink tasted kinda flat. Maybe my wine was old. Not buying again.

  41. 3 stars
Super simple, but can I use any other juice? Like apple? I really don’t like orange. Anyway, still good, I guess.

  42. User avatar edison.homenick1988 says:

    2 stars
    Uhhh, isn’t champange really expensive? How’s this a budget-friendly recipe? 🤔

    1. User avatar elmo.graham says:

      3 stars
I don’t know much about wines, but aren’t some champagnes ok priced? Maybe there’s a sale? 🤷‍♂️

    2. 4 stars
I get what you mean! Champagne can be pricey. You could swap it with prosecco or cheap sparkling wine if you’re on a budget.

  43. User avatar karl.bauch2021 says:

    3 stars
I mean… it’s just OJ and bubbles. Not complaining, but $ for Champagne? I used prosecco and it turned out fine.

    1. 5 stars
Honestly I agree—if it’s mainly OJ + bubbles, it’s not that serious. I’ve done it with prosecco too and it tasted great. The strawberries are the real MVP.

  44. 5 stars
Super easy and delicious! I added some mango juice too and it was divine! Will make again!

  45. 3 stars
How many servings does this make? Seems like not enough for a party. 🤔

  46. User avatar osvaldo.hamill77 says:

    4 stars
Can’t believe how good this tastes with store-bought OJ. The instructions are spot on—gentle stirring matters!

  47. User avatar virgen.hilpert45 says:

    1 star
it’s just orange juice and sparkling wine, what’s the big deal? 1 star, sorry.

    1. 5 stars
I get what you mean, but it’s all about the presentation! Plus, it’s a classic for a reason. 🍾 5 stars for me!

  48. User avatar joie.terry29 says:

    3 stars
My bubbles went flat after I let it sit for a bit—should’ve served immediately like it says. Still tasty, just not as fun.

  49. User avatar rosalina.hahn96 says:

    5 stars
Made this for our Valentine’s brunch—so easy and honestly tastes fancy. The orange + bubbles combo is perfect, and the strawberries make it look like a restaurant drink.

    1. User avatar granville.douglas16 says:

      5 stars
Aww that sounds perfect—simple but looks fancy! I love the orange + bubbles combo too. I’m stealing this for our brunch 😄

  50. User avatar jerrell.homenick39 says:

    4 stars
I thought this would be too sweet, but it was refreshing! We had it for breakfast and it was great!

    1. User avatar trisha.sauer2016 says:

      2 stars
Nah, sounds too sweet tbh. Shouldn’t breakfast be something more filling? Just orange juice and champagne??

    2. User avatar basementDweller says:

      5 stars
Glad you liked it! I wasn’t sure about the sweetness either but I gave it a try. It’s now my favorite breakfast drink!

  51. 3 stars
A bit too sweet for my taste. Maybe less OJ next time?

    1. User avatar odis.pagac24 says:

      4 stars
I think the sweetness is part of the fun! But I get you, maybe just a splash less OJ could work.

  52. User avatar berry.zieme92 says:

    1 star
I hate orange juice. Can you use apple instead? Seems like a waste otherwise.

  53. 1 star
Um, where’s the recipe for a white wine spritzer? This is misleading.

    1. User avatar Easton West says:

      2 stars
Yeah, I thought this was about white wine spritzers. Just a tad confusing.

    2. 4 stars
This is definitely not a spritzer! But who doesn’t love a mimosa? 🍾

  54. 2 stars
This is basically a fancy drink hack. Nothing wrong with that, but I wouldn’t call it “Valentine’s” without at least adding more garnish or syrup.

  55. 1 star
Ugh, too much fizz! Makes me burp like crazy! 😬

  56. User avatar guadalupe.volkman13 says:

    4 stars
Strawberries were a nice touch! I sprinkled some sugar on them too.

  57. User avatar avril.kessler says:

    5 stars
This mimosa was a hit at my Valentine’s brunch! So refreshing! 🥂

  58. User avatar danial.quigley82 says:

Such a classic! Perfect for Valentine’s Day celebrations. Loved it!

    1. User avatar ellamae.waters1 says:

      5 stars
Absolutely agree! Mimosas are a must for any special occasion. 🌹

    2. User avatar garret.bergnaum says:

      2 stars
I dunno… kinda basic? I guess it’s alright for a brunch, but not that special.

  59. User avatar steve_maga says:

    3 stars
Honestly, not my fave drink, but the strawberries made it nice.

    1. User avatar steve_maga says:

      4 stars
I get that! Not everyone loves mimosas. Maybe try it with a different fruit next time? Like peaches or raspberries, they’re good too!

  60. 5 stars
This is super easy! I made it for my husband on Valentine’s Day and he loved it! Cheers! 🍾

    1. User avatar amina.oconner81 says:

      5 stars
Sounds delicious! I think I’ll try this for my anniversary too. Thanks for sharing!

  61. User avatar bradly.walter92 says:

    5 stars
This fizz is just perfect for my valentine’s brunch! Everyone loved it!

  62. 4 stars
I’m skeptical it needs only orange juice and champagne… but it’s actually good. I guess the ratios matter—2 cups to a whole bottle seems pretty strong on the bubbly side.

    1. User avatar rosalina.jast says:

      4 stars
Yeah, I was skeptical too—“OJ + champagne” sounds too simple. But the ratio makes it work. 2 cups to a whole bottle is pretty forgiving and not overly sweet.

  63. User avatar gabriela.veum48 says:

    4 stars
Strawberries make it fancy. I like it! But is there a non-alcoholic version? My aunt can’t have champagne.

  64. 5 stars
I loved how quick this was—like 5 minutes and done. I served it at brunch and everyone kept asking for the recipe.

    1. User avatar lieselotte.greenfelder0 says:

      5 stars
Right?? I tried it at brunch too—so fast and tastes fancy without the effort. The strawberry garnish is the perfect touch.

  65. User avatar shin.ryan95 says:

    3 stars
Not gonna lie, I messed up and poured it too fast. It foamed like crazy. Still tasted good though, just looked like a science experiment. Will do slower next time.

  66. 5 stars
So easy and it tastes so fancy for basically no work. The strawberry garnish is adorable—perfect for Valentine’s morning.

    1. User avatar rupert.ortiz48 says:

      5 stars
Totally agree—this is the easiest “fancy” drink ever. The strawberry garnish makes it look like you tried way harder than you did 😊

  67. User avatar jae.altenwerth84 says:

    3 stars
This recipe is missing some flavor. I put in some raspberry syrup and it was better!

  68. User avatar Gandalf the Grey says:

    5 stars
Super easy and actually tastes fancy. The orange juice makes it bright and not too strong. Strawberries on top are such a cute touch for Valentine’s.

    1. 5 stars
So cute! I love that it’s simple but still feels fancy. The orange juice combo sounds perfect for a lighter mimosa—adding strawberries is such a nice touch.

  69. 5 stars
This mimosa is so refreshing! Perfect for Valentine’s brunch. 🍊🥂

    1. User avatar lady.hermann says:

      5 stars
I love mimosas! Just made them for brunch last weekend. So easy and tasty! 🥰

    2. 3 stars
Isn’t champagne just super expensive? I wonder if it would taste fine with soda instead? 🤔

  70. 5 stars
Absolutely loved this recipe! Perfect for our Valentine’s brunch. The strawberries add a nice touch. 5 stars!

    1. 3 stars
This seems too simple. Does it really taste that good? I always thought mimosas were just for brunch.

    2. 5 stars
So glad you enjoyed it! The strawberries really do make it special. Cheers! 🥂

  71. User avatar linn.hand86 says:

    5 stars
My bad grammar but: it was yummy!! The strawberries on top were so cute. Will make again for sure.

    1. 5 stars
No worries about the grammar—glad you enjoyed it! 🍓✨ The strawberries really do make it extra cute. Definitely want to try this again too!

  72. User avatar Mrs. Jody Glover says:

    5 stars
To be honest, I thought this would be hard to make, but it was super simple. Will make again! 👍

    1. User avatar emerita.effertz1977 says:

      2 stars
Really? I thought mimosas needed more ingredients than that. Seems too simple to be good.

    2. User avatar claudette.beer says:

      5 stars
I was shocked at how easy it was too! Great recipe for a special occasion. 🌸

  73. User avatar Emily Saunders says:

    2 stars
I followed it exactly and it was… fine. Kinda sweet for me. Maybe next time I’ll use a bit less OJ.

  74. User avatar margarita.anderson30 says:

    3 stars
Aren’t mimosas just for breakfast? A little odd for Valentine’s Dinner… but ok.

  75. 4 stars
Pretty good! I might reduce the orange juice a little next time because mine tasted slightly more like orange drink than mimosa. Still cute though.

    1. 5 stars
Totally agree—if you go too heavy on the OJ it loses that “mimosa” vibe. Next time I’ll try cutting it down like you suggested. 🍊✨

  76. User avatar Treebeard says:

    4 stars
I followed it exactly, but I used prosecco instead of champagne and it still worked great. Light, bubbly, and not too sweet.

  77. User avatar freddie.fahey2 says:

    4 stars
I used orange juice (not fresh squeezed) and a cheap sparkling wine, and it still tasted great. Definitely a crowd-pleaser.

  78. User avatar lisha.gleichner2014 says:

    3 stars
Y’all know champagne’s just wine, right? Like, why not just drink wine?

  79. 5 stars
Made this for brunch and everyone loved it. I used chilled orange juice and it came out perfect—really refreshing.

  80. User avatar terminatorXYZ says:

    5 stars
Simple and quick! This is my go-to for brunch parties now. 💖🍾
