There’s something about grilled food that just feels right when the weather is warm. These beef and pepper skewers are a perfect example of a dish that’s easy to make, fun to eat, and packed with flavor. When served with soft, warm pita, they turn into a satisfying meal that works for lunch, dinner, or even a casual get-together with friends.
The key to delicious skewers is all in the marinade. Beef needs time to soak up flavors like garlic, lemon, olive oil, and herbs. Once it’s had that time to rest, it becomes tender and flavorful, ready to grill to perfection. Pair that with the natural sweetness of bell peppers, and you have a colorful combination that’s both balanced and delicious.
Grilling adds a slight char and smoky edge that takes everything to the next level. When the beef gets those crisp edges and the peppers soften just enough, you know it’s time to pull them off the heat. Wrap it all in a pita, add a little tzatziki or hummus, and maybe toss in some fresh cucumber or crumbled feta.
This dish is great because it doesn’t try too hard. It’s casual, fresh, and totally adaptable. You can eat the skewers straight off the stick, pull them apart for a build-your-own pita wrap, or even toss them into a salad bowl if you’re feeling something lighter.
Whether you’re grilling in the backyard or using a grill pan indoors, this is one of those meals that brings people together. It’s bold without being fussy and feels like a mini escape to the Mediterranean. Plus, cleanup is easy and the leftovers (if there are any) are just as good the next day.
Keep it simple, keep it fresh, and let the grill do the work. This one’s a keeper.

Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin cut into cubes
- 2 Bell peppers cut into chunks
- 1 red onion cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp olive oil

- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita bread

- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated beef cubes onto skewers, alternating with chunks of bell peppers and red onion.
- Grill the skewers for about 5 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- While the skewers are grilling, warm the pita breads on the grill for a minute on each side.
- Serve the grilled beef and pepper skewers with warm pita breads.
- Enjoy!
Not bad, but I think my beef was overcooked. Maybe next time I’ll try less grilling time.
Didn’t work out for me. The beef was chewy and my peppers got burnt. Tres disappointed.
Quick and easy! I marinated the beef overnight and it was fantastic. Recommend!
Great for the family! Took longer than expected to cook, but still yummy. Definitely gonna make again.
These skewers were a hit! The marinade smelled amazing, and the beef stayed juicy. I also liked the char on the peppers and onion—great combo with warm pita.
Nice! I tried this but mine was a little dry—maybe I overcooked it (or my grill runs hot). Still tasty though. Do you think 10 min marinating is enough or should I do longer?
Totally agree—my marinade smelled like it should be illegal 😄 The char on the peppers and onion really makes it. Also, warming the pita on the grill is such a simple upgrade.
Salt and pepper “to taste” is kinda vague 😅 I basically guessed and it was okay, but I’d love exact amounts. Other than that, easy and tasty.
Totally agree—“to taste” is annoying when you’re trying to be consistent 😅 I usually do about 1 tsp kosher salt and 1/2 tsp black pepper for this amount of meat, then adjust next time. Glad you still liked it!
I think exact amounts depend on the salt type tho. Like if it’s table salt, 1/2 tsp might be plenty. Also why not use 2 tsp? I never measure pepper, I just go ham 😄
Not bad at all, but mine came out a little dry. Next time I’ll cube the beef smaller and check earlier—maybe my grill runs hot.
Good idea with the skewers, but 5 minutes per side felt a bit optimistic with my grill. I had to add a few extra minutes to get the beef done.
Simple and delicious! Just what I needed for a quick dinner. Thanks!
I’m not sure about 5 minutes per side. My skewers took closer to 7-8 since the beef cubes were bigger. Once I adjusted, though, it was really good and flavorful.
Hmm 5 min per side felt short to me too. Mine took longer like 7ish, and I think my grill was hotter than “medium-high” lol. Still tasty, but I don’t trust that exact timing.
Totally makes sense—bigger cubes = more time. I’ve had the same issue when I cube mine too chunky. Glad you got the timing dialed in though!
I’m not sure about the marinade—10 minutes feels a little short for sirloin cubes. Next time I’ll try longer and see if it changes the flavor.
Totally get you—10 minutes can be pretty quick for sirloin cubes. I usually marinate closer to 30–60 minutes (or overnight if I’m planning ahead). Might deepen the garlic/oregano flavor a lot.
I think 10 minutes is enough if the beef is cut small, like tiny cubes. Also 5 min per side on medium-high cooks it fast so the marinade doesn’t need to sit long, imo. But yeah try longer next time!
I’m skeptical about the timing—5 minutes per side feels short for sirloin. Mine needed closer to 7-8 minutes to be properly cooked.
beef and pita? lol sounds weird but I try it!
Weird? Nah, it’s yummy! I love beef in pita. You should definitely try it, trust me!
You won’t regret it! The flavors blend really well together. Give it a shot!
This recipe is missing something… maybe a sauce?
Nah, I think it’s fine without sauce. The marinade should be enough flavor.
I totally agree! A nice tzatziki or a chimichurri would really elevate this dish!
I love how simple the ingredients are. The oregano + garlic combo is classic, and it didn’t overpower the meat. Will make again for sure.
Umm, didn’t have beef so I used chicken instead, still tasted good. I think the recipe can work with any meat!
These turned out so flavorful! The garlic + oregano marinade really makes the beef taste legit, and the peppers were nice and charred.
Pretty solid recipe. I followed it pretty much exactly, but my beef took longer than 5 minutes per side. Still tasted great though!
Hm I’m not sure 5 minutes per side is enough. I’d check internal temp—also my pita always gets burnt if I leave it too long lol. Still though, sounds like a tasty combo.
Glad you liked it! 5 min/side can definitely be optimistic depending on cube size and how hot your grill runs. Next time, either cut smaller or give a couple extra minutes and trust the doneness test.
I tried this and the pita kept burning before the skewers were ready… timing is tricky. Still, the flavors are solid.
See I cooked mine “5 min per side” and the beef was still pink—also my pita was totally black. Maybe my grill temp was too high? I think the garlic also burns quick. But the taste was decent, ngl.
Totally agree—pita burns fast on medium-high. I now put the pitas on at the very end (or in a foil packet) and keep the grill closer to medium. Flavors are still so good though!
Yummy!!! Just made this and my family loved it. Thanks for sharing!!
So many skewers in one recipe! I just wanted a few, but that was too much for my grill. Gonna halved it next time.
I get that! Sometimes less is more, especially on a small grill. Just adjust it to your liking next time!
I used chicken instead and it still worked great with the marinade. Not the recipe, I know, but it was tasty.
Nice! Chicken is a solid swap—marinades usually hold up well like that. Did you adjust the cook time much, or did you stick to the ~5 minutes per side?
Grilling these skewers is so fun! Did it with my friends and we all enjoyed it a lot. 😊
I forgot to buy pita bread. Now I just have beef and veggies… what a mistake.
Pretty tasty, but I think the seasoning might need more salt than “to taste” since sirloin can be kinda bland. Next time I’ll be more generous.
These skewers are amazing! The flavour is incredible, I added some chili flakes to spice it up. Loved it!
idk man, the instructions were kinda confusing. Had to look up a video.
Not a fan. The marinade was too strong for my taste. Gonna try a different recipe next time. Makes me sad!
Super easy to make! Even my kids liked it and they’re picky eaters. Thanks for sharing!
Too much onion for my taste! Should have kept it simple. Next time I’ll just skip the onions.
Pretty solid recipe, easy to follow. I marinated mine closer to 45 minutes and it tasted even better. I did find the salt/pepper measurement is vague, so I went a little heavier—next time I’ll taste more carefully.
These skewers are fantastic! My whole family loved them. Will definitely make again.
These skewers are packed with flavor! My family loved them!
These were amazing! The beef was so juicy and flavorful. Definitely making again!
Followed it pretty closely, but I marinated closer to 30 minutes and grilled a little longer. Beef stayed juicy. Pita was a great call.
So good! Grilled pita is the move.
Followed it pretty much exactly. Marinated longer (like 45 min) and it definitely tasted better. 5 min per side was spot on for medium.
Just like at the fair! Best dinner ever! 😍
I totally agree! These skewers remind me of those summer fairs. Can’t wait to try this at home! 🥳
This was an absolute disaster! The beef was too chewy. Never making this again.
Chewy beef? That’s a bummer! Maybe try a different cut next time? Sirloin can be tough if not cooked right.
I’m sorry to hear that! Did you use enough oil or let it marinate longer? I’ve had great luck with these skewers!
The pita warming step is underrated. I forgot it once and the meal felt a little sad without the warm bread. Now I do it every time.
I dunno, I followed the recipe but my beef turned out kinda tough. Maybe I grilled it too long? Not sure if I would try again.
Grilled the veggies too long, now they are mushy. Next time will watch them better!
I tried this but forgot the garlic. It was still good, but I’m sure it would be better with it.
Took too long to grill, and the beef was kinda tough. Not a fan.
Yuk! The oregano was too strong for my taste. Plus, I forgot the pita, so that didn’t help! 😩
I just throw the beef on the grill without marinating it. Works fine too, but I guess this method is fancy.
I thought this was pretty basic. I mean, beef and peppers? Not a unique recipe.
Yum! The garlic and oregano give it a flavorful kick. Love it! 😋
Quick and easy! Perfect for a Summer BBQ. My kids loved putting the skewers together, plus they ate their veggies. Win-win!
I added mushrooms and zucchini too, turned out awesome!
Looks great.
Looks okay but 5 minutes per side seems short for 1 lb sirloin cubes… depends how big they are, I guess. I’d check for doneness and maybe grill a bit longer.
Right? The beef + peppers combo sounds perfect. I’m especially into the garlic-oregano marinade—10 minutes is totally doable.
Grilled beef? More like grilled burger! Confusing recipe, who fries beef for 5 mins??
I don’t know, man. The meat was tough and the veggies got burned. Maybe my grill is too hot? Not sure I’ll try again.
Pitas went well with the skewers! Nice combo, 10/10 would grill again!
Totally agree! The pitas really add a nice touch. Did you use any sauce with it?
Not bad, but I think I needed more seasoning. I used chicken instead of beef though.
Chicken instead of beef? That’s a different choice, but hey, whatever works for you!
I agree, seasoning can really make a dish pop! Try adding more herbs next time.
The pita warming trick is underrated. I almost skipped it and then they came out all soft and warm and the skewers tasted way better with them. Kids actually ate the peppers too (rare!).
Loved it! The garlic and oregano gave such a nice flavor, and the pita was a perfect touch. 10/10 would recommend!
I’m glad you loved it! The garlic really makes a difference, doesn’t it? 🧄😋
Flavor was good, but my pita got a bit too toasted and dried out. Next time I’ll warm it for less time and keep an eye on the grill so it doesn’t turn leathery.
Smells amazing! I’m gonna do this tonight. Simple enough, and the garlic smell is real.
No lie, I thought it would be boring, but nope—actually good. My kids ate it and asked for more (wild).
My fam would never ask for more—unless I accidentally added extra garlic 😅 Also 5 min per side feels fast… I’m guessing depends how big the cubes are. Still, I might try it!
Ha! Love when the “boring” recipe surprises you 😄 Those flavors (garlic + oregano + peppers) sound perfect for kids too—nice win!
Solid recipe, but I think 5 minutes per side depends a lot on your cubes size and grill temp. Mine needed closer to 7-8 minutes. Still turned out juicy though—nice and simple.
I don’t know… my beef got tough and it was kinda bland. Maybe I did something wrong?
Meh. The seasoning is fine but it felt kinda bland without extra sauce. Next time I’ll add lemon or something.
Yum! Simple ingredients but so tasty! Perfect for summer BBQs.
Ok but 5 minutes per side seems short for beef cubes. I did that and mine were undercooked in the middle. I had to give them another few minutes. Maybe depends on cube size.
Totally agree—5 min/side can be way too fast depending on cube size and grill heat. I’d start checking earlier but plan on more time for thicker cubes.
This is my kind of dinner. Everything goes from bowl to grill. My kids actually ate the peppers (miracle).
Haha love this—“miracle” for the peppers is the best endorsement 😄 I’m always trying to get my kids to eat anything green. Did you marinate longer than 10 minutes or keep it quick?
Why is the garlic only 2 cloves? I doubled it and now it tastes like restaurant food. Maybe I’m just greedy 😅
These skewers were a hit at my BBQ! The kids loved them too. Will make again!
Glad to hear they were a hit! We made them last week too and everyone loved them, especially the kids. Such a great recipe!
These skewers were a hit! The oregano-garlic marinade really soaked into the beef and the peppers stayed juicy. I grilled a bit longer than 5 minutes per side and they were perfect—tender but not dry. Served with the warmed pita was such a good move.
So glad they turned out! I also do a longer grill when the beef cubes are bigger—about 6–7 min per side usually works for me. The oregano-garlic combo is definitely the magic.
This recipe is too complicated! I just want quick meals. Needs less steps.
How do you know when the beef is cooked? I just wing it usually.
These skewers are fantastic! So juicy and flavorful! Will definitely make again.
Uhh grill for 5 mins per side? My skewers were overcooked at that time 😬 maybe my grill runs hotter. Otherwise good combo with the peppers.
Yeah, 5 mins/side is pretty heat-dependent—if your grill runs hot that’ll push them past “just right.” I usually go by internal temp (like ~145°F for medium-rare) instead of the clock. Glad the pepper/onion combo still worked though!
I think 5 mins per side is too long for beef cubes unless they’re small? Mine get dry if I do that. Next time I’d grill shorter and turn more often. Also… did you oil the skewers? Mine stuck once lol.
Grilled beef and what? Who said beef ain’t healthy? You gotta watch this!
Super tasty! The flavors go so well together. My kids loved it!
Can I use other veggies? I don’t like bell peppers.
I dunno, but isn’t it called ‘pepper’ skewers for a reason? Maybe just stick with the recipe.
Absolutely! You can use zucchini, mushrooms, or even cherry tomatoes instead. Just make sure to cut them into similar sizes.
These skewers were a hit at my BBQ! Super easy to make and the flavors were on point. Definitely making again.
Really? 10 minutes to marinate? Seems too short to get the flavor in. I usually marinate longer.
Sounds delicious! Can’t wait to try this recipe for my next get-together.
The pita trick is underrated. Warming it on the grill made it taste way better than store-bought warm-up. Yum!
I didn’t have sirloin so I used something leaner and it came out a bit dry. Next time I’ll choose a fattier cut. Flavor was good, but texture suffered.
Totally agree—leaner beef dries out fast on the grill. If you can’t do sirloin, maybe try a bit fattier like ribeye or even add a little oil/marinade time to help. Glad the flavor still came through though!
I don’t have an outdoor grill, can I use an oven? 🍖
I don’t get it—grill peppers and onion and expect magic? lol. It was fine, but honestly the beef was just average for me and the pita didn’t do much.
Tried this last night and it’s a hit. The oregano-garlic marinade really shines, and the peppers char just enough. 5 minutes per side was perfect for medium. Will make again!
Delicious! My family devoured these. Only change: I doubled the garlic because I’m that person. Still super easy.
Not sure if I did something wrong but mine came out kinda tough. I cooked them around the same time, maybe my grill was hotter than medium-high? Still tasty, just chewy. Any tips for keeping sirloin tender?
Not gonna lie, 5 minutes per side sounds optimistic for 1-inch cubes. I had to grill longer, like closer to 7-8 minutes, or else it was too rare for me. Would be helpful to specify thickness.
Awesome!! I did chicken instead of beef and it turned out great too!
That’s awesome that you made it your own! Chickens always make it lighter. I might try that too!
Grilled meat is lyk the best! Easy and quick dinner 🙂
Eh, it was alright. I prefer chicken skewers.
Chicken skewers are good too! But honestly, these beef ones are super tasty when you grill ’em right. 👍
These look awesome—simple, hearty, and the marinade sounds flavorful. I’d totally add a squeeze of lemon at the end too. 🔥
I like the idea, but mine came out a little dry. Maybe I cut the beef too small or left it on too long. Still good though, especially with the warm pita.
I tried this but my skewers burned on the outside before the inside cooked. I think medium-high was too hot for my grill. Would recommend lowering the heat and cooking slower.
So easy and quick! Perfect for a summer barbecue. I added some extra spices though.
I love grilling but I hate when recipes are too “whatever salt and pepper.” That said, the flavor combo is classic and it worked. Next time I’ll add a squeeze of lemon or a dash of smoked paprika for more punch.
Totally agree—“salt and pepper” gets boring fast. Lemon sounds perfect with beef, and smoked paprika would really level it up. 😋
Pretty solid and simple. I did 4 minutes per side and my sirloin was still juicy, but I’d watch the doneness because different grill temps can throw you off.
Not bad, but I expected more ‘pepper’ flavor. I used green bell peppers though, so maybe that’s why. Also I didn’t marinate long—only 10 minutes—so I’ll try longer next time.
I think the recipe already says pepper… but maybe the green bell peppers didn’t help, yeah. 10 minutes sounds kinda short though—mine always gets better after like an hour. Also I grilled too hot once and the beef got dry, so watch the heat 😅
Good point—bell peppers can definitely mellow the “pepper” vibe. If you want more bite, try adding black pepper (or even crushed red pepper) to taste, and marinate closer to 30 min if you can.
Beef sirloin cubes can be hit or miss for me—sometimes I end up with chew. The marinade helps, but I might try using slightly thinner cubes or letting it marinate longer next time.
Pretty solid combo—beef is tender and the onion/pepper add sweetness. I didn’t have dried oregano so I used fresh and maybe a little extra garlic. Still came out great.
I’m curious though—5 minutes per side sounds kinda fast for sirloin cubes. Mine always take longer unless I cut them smaller. Either way, glad it was good for you!
Totally agree—those onion/pepper bits really sweeten everything up. I usually go a touch heavy on the garlic too and it still works out great. Glad yours turned out!
These skewers were a huge hit—juicy beef, and the peppers/onion grilled up so sweet. I marinated closer to 30 minutes and it definitely tasted more flavorful.
I didn’t have pita, so I just ate it with rice. Still good, I guess. lol.
I mean, that’s not really the recipe but I’m glad you enjoyed it anyway! lol
Rice sounds like a good alternative! Did you season it at all? 🤔
Made these last night—super flavorful. The oregano + garlic combo is legit, and the peppers grilled just right. I marinated closer to 30 minutes and they were extra tender. Will do again!
