Gordon Ramsay’s Perfect Breakfast Sandwich

May 29, 2025

Gordon Ramsay is known for his bold, often extravagant approach to cooking—after all, his signature dish is the elegant, puff pastry-wrapped Beef Wellington. Dining at one of his restaurants is a treat (we’re still dreaming about his lobster risotto), and trying his recipes at home can feel like an adventure. But do Ramsay’s elevated techniques work for something as simple as breakfast? According to the world’s most famous chef, Gordon Ramsay has the perfect breakfast sandwich!

Gordon Ramsay’s Full English Twist

Typically, breakfast is a straightforward meal—quick, easy, and made with just a few ingredients. But in true Ramsay fashion, even his morning staples are taken to the next level.

His go-to bowl of oatmeal isn’t just oats in hot water—it’s a simmered mix of oats, dates, apples, and spices until it reaches a luxuriously creamy consistency. His scrambled eggs? Cooked with precision using a 30-seconds-on, 10-seconds-off heat method. Even his midnight snack—toast topped with Heinz beans, egg, and cheese—has a bit of flair.

And yet, despite the complexity, we keep coming back to his recipes because they taste incredible. That includes his version of a breakfast sandwich, which the Next Level Chef host calls “perfect.” Spoiler: It’s not just bacon and eggs on a bagel. It’s a full-on English breakfast packed into a sandwich.

Ramsay’s Perfect Breakfast Sandwich

Ramsay shared his recipe in a YouTube video and on TikTok, where fans called it a “game changer.” Gordon Ramsay’s perfect breakfast sandwich features bacon, sausage, roasted cherry tomatoes, and fried eggs, but it’s the cooking method that elevates it.

He begins by frying sausage and bacon in an oven-safe skillet with oil, butter, and black pepper. Once browned, he adds cherry tomatoes, letting them blister slightly before transferring the skillet to the oven for four minutes.

While that cooks, he prepares his eggs in a way only Ramsay would: cracked into a pan with hot oil and butter, seasoned with salt, pepper, and a hint of chili flakes. Instead of flipping them, he tilts the pan so the hot butter cooks the whites evenly while leaving the yolks soft. Then, for an extra kick, he tops them with sriracha and a splash of Worcestershire sauce.

Once the meat and tomatoes are done, he drains the fat and lightly crushes the tomatoes to release their juices, finishing them with a touch of balsamic vinegar. Ramsay uses crusty, untoasted bread, starting the assembly by spooning the flavorful pan sauce from the eggs onto the bread. He adds the halved sausage links, crispy bacon, roasted tomatoes, and the perfectly fried eggs. And Voila – Gordon Ramsay’s perfect breakfast sandwich is ready!

While it’s missing a few components of a traditional full English breakfast—like mushrooms, baked beans, or blood pudding—the sandwich is undeniably rich, filling, and utterly indulgent.

It’s not a breakfast you’ll make every morning, nor should you. But as Ramsay himself says, it’s the kind of sandwich that “will cure any hangover at any time of the week.” We believe him—and no hangover is required to enjoy this next-level creation.
