Instructions
Season the rib-eye steak with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest while you prepare the sauce.
In the same skillet, add the red wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
Reduce the wine by half, then stir in the butter and fresh thyme until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
Serve the steak with the red wine sauce drizzled over the top.
