2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup candied fruit peel
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting


1.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2.In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
3.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the candied fruit peel and golden raisins.
4.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5.Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
6.Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
7.Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
8.Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.
