Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Stir in the melted butter and milk until a dough forms.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into small dumpling-like pieces.
In a baking dish, add the chicken broth and diced onions, and arrange the dumplings on top.
Brush the dumplings with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown and cooked through.
