Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the orange juice.
Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
Fold in the mixed dried fruits and nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
