Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Butter and flour 8 individual ramekins or oven-safe cups.
In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a pan of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and creamy.
Gradually add the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
Sift in the flour and fold it into the batter until well combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each halfway.
Place 2 cherries in the center of each ramekin. Top with more batter to cover the cherries completely.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
Gently run a knife around the edge of each cake and invert onto serving plates.
