Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
