2 cups apple cider
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon maple syrup
4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Baguette slices, for serving
Apple slices, for serving
Pretzels, for serving


1.In a medium saucepan, heat the apple cider over medium heat until simmering.
2.In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and maple syrup until smooth.
3.Slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the simmering cider, stirring constantly.
4.Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
5.Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
6.Transfer the fondue to a fondue pot or a serving dish.
7.Serve with baguette slices, apple slices, and pretzels for dipping.
