Instructions
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the whiskey and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, continuing to stir thoroughly.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted and the sauce is smooth.
Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
