Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and sear until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Remove the skillet from the heat and spread the pesto sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
Scatter the halved cherry tomatoes around the chicken in the skillet.
Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese on top of the chicken.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the pesto chicken with the roasted cherry tomatoes and your choice of side dish.
