2
cups
raw peanuts
shelled
1
quart
vegetable oil
for frying
1
teaspoon
salt
or to taste
1/2
teaspoon
cayenne pepper
optional, for a spicy kick
Instructions
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully add the raw peanuts to the hot oil in small batches to avoid overcrowding.
Fry the peanuts for approximately 5-7 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Remove the peanuts from the oil using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
While the peanuts are still warm, season them with salt and cayenne pepper if desired.
Allow the peanuts to cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container.
