  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour use gluten-free if needed
  • 2 cups vegetable broth low-sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • to taste salt

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in the vegetable broth, ensuring there are no lumps.
