These caramel apples are a delightful treat, combining crisp apples with a rich, buttery caramel coating.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium apples Granny Smith apples work well for their tartness.
  • 1 package caramel candies about 11 ounces
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream for a richer taste
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional topping

Instructions
 

  • Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Insert a wooden stick into the core of each apple.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the caramel candies with milk, stirring frequently until smooth.
  • Dip each apple into the caramel, turning to coat completely. Allow excess to drip off.
  • If desired, roll the freshly dipped apples in chopped nuts or other toppings.
  • Place the apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to set.
