Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
Add the cold butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, mix the pumpkin puree and buttermilk together until smooth.
Add the pumpkin mixture to the flour mixture and gently stir until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch-thick circle or rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm.
