Instructions
Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and add enough water to cover them.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the sweet potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the pot.
Mash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Serve warm as a side dish.
