This homemade cream cheese frosting is smooth, creamy, and can be used for frosting cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more. It's a simple and delicious topping with just the right amount of sweetness.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until creamy and well combined.
  • Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and continue beating on low speed. Then increase to medium speed and beat until fully mixed and smooth.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  • Taste the frosting and add more powdered sugar if desired for thickness or more vanilla extract for flavor. Continue to beat until well combined.
  • Use immediately for frosting cakes, cupcakes, cookies, or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
