Easy Classic Pizzelle

A simple and delicious recipe for classic Italian pizzelle cookies.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a pizzelle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and melted butter.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of batter onto the preheated pizzelle iron.
  • Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the pizzelles are golden brown.
  • Remove from the iron and cool on a wire rack.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Serve the pizzelles as is, or dust with powdered sugar if desired.
