Preheat a pizzelle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
In a large bowl, beat together the sugar and melted butter.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
Drop rounded tablespoons of batter onto the preheated pizzelle iron.
Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the pizzelles are golden brown.
Remove from the iron and cool on a wire rack.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve the pizzelles as is, or dust with powdered sugar if desired.
