Spiedie mix – by Chris Nosse
Ingredients
- mint (a handful), fresh
- 1 bottle Italian dressing
- 1 Lemon
- 3-4 Garlic cloves
- 2-3 pounds Poultry or meat (adjusting for the marinate quantity)
Instructions
- Finely chop a handful of fresh mint leaves
- Mince garlic cloves
- Juice one lemon
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped mint, minced garlic, and lemon juice
- Pour in the bottle of Italian dressing
- Mix well to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly combined
Marinate the Meat
- Place your choice of poultry or meat into a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish
- Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is well-coated
- Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap
- Place it in the refrigerator and marinate for 1 to 2 days, turning the meat occasionally to ensure even marination
Cook the Marinated Meat
- When ready to cook, remove the meat from the marinade and discard any remaining marinade
- Skewer the meat onto skewers (if desired for traditional spiedies)
- Cook the meat using your preferred method (grilling is traditional)
